I'm biased, seeing as I often think of my own style as "grandma chic," but I think this place is just great.

May I third Gillianne and Pipstar on the writing? It is excellent. As an English instructor and someone who respects grammar and solid writing, there is no safe place, and sadly, especially not AT. I appreciate the craft of this piece. The apartment is lovely as well.

I'm shocked at how much I like this home. Not my typical taste at all, but when I look at the photos, I feel a rush of light and air. Such good energy. It's beautiful to look at too. Really, one of my all time favorite AT tours.

I'm glad it's your healing place. We all need that.

Strikes a gorgeous note.

Growing up it was red. Then I hated two colors, orange and green. As I started dreaming of living in New York City, and once I got there, I was all about black and still hated orange and green. Then I moved to Los Angeles, took up knitting, and found myself forever pining after yarn in gorgeous shades of orange or green. By the time I realized what was happening, it was too late. They'd become my favorite colors, with orange in the top slot. Turquoise is edging out green these days, but I still love it. I wonder what shifts in us to allow our color preferences to change so drastically. I guess it is evolution.

I made this on Saturday. I used my 12-inch cast-iron skillet, which was just big enough, and added a little chipotle powder toward the end. I have to thank you for such an incredibly delicious recipe. The next day it was everything you said it would be and then some. Mm-mmm good!

And no small amount of affection for the vintage razor collection too.
