Common mistakes? That implies that there are clear right and wrong ways to deal with allowances. I love reading condescending posts.

I love the kitchen.

I too am annoyed at the use of "ethnic" here...wow, let's be lazy and lump all those non-whites together. I guess AT didn't learn much after this: http://onegrandhome.wordpress.com/2009/12/29/apttherap/

@JoyAdams I crochet dish cloths too and had the same concerns. I found a pattern using strips of tulle with the cotton yarn and crocheted. I wish I could find the link..Anyway, it makes them a bit stronger for scrubbing.

Does Etsy have a stake in this site?

@Kait N One of the things I remember the most about driving to Florida with my family when I was 12 was that iced tea in the states (it might have been North Carolina..don't remember where we stopped) was just cold tea. My family laughed at my surprised/grossed out face. I was used to the delicious sugary Canadian stuff

I like the sounds of this sweet tea stuff though. Anything that has water and sugar at a 2:1 ratio sounds good to me.

I love those birds. Well, it all looks great but I love how those birds are so simple yet have an awesome impact on the room. I love all the colours too. I don't think I could be in a bad mood living in a place like this.

If someone had told me about this, I probably wouldn't like it but it looks good in that photo. It might be the colour it's painted.

This is so beautiful. I'm trying to find words after I've scooped my jaw up. I would love to spend afternoons reading in one of those chairs.

For me it's laundry and watering plants. Basically, the easiest and least gross chores. I also like putting clothes on the clothesline and taking them off. I'm not really sure what it is but I've always loved doing laundry.

This is some great advice and I need all the help I can get. I don't know that I necessarily have a system for organizing but I probably do and it's not a very good one. I think most of my problem is that I have too much stuff. Too much of everything, really. In a couple weeks I'll have time to do a massive purge and I'm really looking forward to it.

I LOVE that first one. I think normally I'd be opposed to destroying a book to make something else but it would depend on the book and more so, on the intended end result.

I've seen people make clocks out of Dr. Seuss books. They look cool but I wouldn't be able to do that to one of his books.

I've also seen people take the front and back of an outdated, hard cover text book and use them as the front and back of a notebook filled with recycled paper. Whoa, this turned into a pretty wordy comment.

I like the first one a lot but not a fan of the second. It's like the outline of a headboard and not an actual headboard.

That is an amazing room but I agree with many of the comments saying that that sort of decor is pretty out of reach for the average university student. I guess he doesn't need a desk to study? I don't doubt that this would be the hangout room.

I get the Wes Anderson character vibe but he made me think of Chuck Bass (from Gossip Girl, I love it and I am not ashamed). Maybe it was just the pants though, not sure.
