I agree - Pyrex is best for me :)

Oven, Freezer, Fridge, Lunches, Dishwasher, Microwave, Toaster Oven - everything!

I like the simple clean minimalistic look of glass so Pyrex is fine for me. And I've never had problems with the lids leaking in my lunches. I think Martha Stewart has some similar containers at Kmart - with pretty mint green lids and shaped like traditional/vintage pyrex refrigerator containers (if you wanted something different than Pyrex for aesthetics).

I do have some of the Anchor Hocking refrigerator containers too bought from The Container Store - and they are lovely too - but don't use them for lunches since the lid comes off.

I live in Peoria, IL! So was excited to see someone sorta from my neck of the woods :)

Love this room! It's cute & cozy - very much my style too. When we have kids I'll be copying some ideas :)

Where did you get the bunting - did you buy it or make it?

I recently had some health issues and was dealing with losing blood & bleeding internally - so I was low on iron.

I've found Floradix to be the BEST supplement. It's liquid so body absorbs it quicker and isn't hard on stomach at all. Taste is not the best - but I tend to take a 'shot' of it then 'chase' it with a small glass of cranberry juice and I've had no problems. I was able to get a month's worth for around $20 at my local natural foods store.

Here is is online:

Also - have you heard of Green Smoothies? This would be a great way to get extra greens (spinach, kale, etc) into your diet as well as extra fruits.

I learned all about it on Happy Foody's blog - Sara is very knowledgeable :)

And I second the not drinking soda. Not that I'm perfect, I still slip one in here or there - but from a former Diet Coke junkie who had 5 a day - I try to reduce it to 1 a week.
I would write more, but you can read about it here:

Good luck! I'm not anemic but have suffered from low iron (and am a vegetarian) so I'm walkin down the same road while my body heals.

Do you have a Gordman's? They have solid colored comforters, and I think they have Orange. I have a plum colored one from there. It's not the highest quality, but it's usually only $40 or less.

I think this might be it, I found it on Flickr from a fellow Etsyer's pics - you could convo her too??

I LOVE this room! I think I'll use it for inspiration for my guest room :) We just moved in our first house, and the walls had just been painted a neutral khaki color - we havent had the means to paint each room yet - but this gives me hope that I may not have to and can dress up the rooms in other ways!

I was going to say the 'gutter' idea - but someone beat me to it! But here's the link to the blog I found it on - sounds like a cool idea to me:
http://watibg.blogspot.com/2008/09/home-improvement-part-2.html

Also - what about using a ladder? How they have magazine racks now that look like 'ladders' - it could be easily made with some dowel rods or repurpose an old ladder. If the books won't hang on it (chapter books and novels may not work so well) you could sew 'pockets' to it over the dowel rods and hang down. Does this make sense? I can see it in my mind, but am not sure how to describe it!

Another idea is to get some kind of old trunk, suitcase or even old guitar/instrument case and have it open against the wall and the books can be put into it.

Just a few thoughts - good luck!

Use them in Green Smoothies! It really doesn't taste gross...google Green Smoothies and you'll find lots of 'recipes' - but usually I do 1 handful of greens, 1 cup water, 1-2 (sometimes frozen) bananas and 2 cups of (fresh or frozen) strawberries or blueberries. You can't taste the greens and you get your vitamins!! This usually makes 32 oz which my husband and i split for breakfast.

I have more details on my blog, or just google it!

Straight vinegar works great for rust stains especially. If you don't like the smell, get some vinegar, water and a few drops of an essential oil.

I recently tried Bon Ami and I was AMAZED! Not only did it clean my shower spotless - but I have the 'textured' floor in the tub and all the little grooves were black and nothing else had worked - with a little elbow grease - all the black was gone!

It also worked in the kitchen sink - where I thought I'd have to bleach to get my sink back to white - but the Bon Ami took it up right away!

Interesting calculator. I took it and scored a 40. However, I also rent, so it was hard to calculate some of the areas. But a good resource!

Thanks for the tip, I blogged about it too :)

Also checkout Lilfishstudios eggs made from real egg shells (I have 2 of them!) on Etsy. It doesn't look like she has in any the shop right now...but I am sure you can just ask her about them! I must confess though, I haven't ever lit mine yet - It just seems too beautiful to light!

I use Tennis Balls and haven't had a problem. I should've done more research to about the dryer balls! However, several of mine broke/slit so I'm not sure how effect they are anyway; plus Tennis balls are much cheaper.

I tried to go to the website to order some Fluff Balls and investigate the price - and it seems very confusing! I can't even figure out a set price for them. I'm thinking about seeing if any Etsy sellers make any...
