I agree with so many of the commenters above--this is one of my favorite home tours. Sarah's style is fantastic--chic and elegant while still being fun and interesting. I'm taking major inspiration for my apartment.

This reminds me of how, when I was really little, my parents let my brother and me put stickers on the refrigerator. That was great until we had to move. Cut to my parents kneeling in front of the fridge for hours, scrubbing it with hot soapy water.

It's cool for an exhibition though. I love the pictures!

This is fantastic! I love the paint (for both the wall and the fireplace) and the floors. It makes a HUGE difference.

I agree with 2Lorah--the logs aren't as good as homemade, and fresh polenta isn't hard to make. It's great with a basic mariana sauce, or sausage and sauteed spinach.

One year my parents gave me The Joy of Cooking. I was just out of college, living on my own, and just getting into cooking. It's been a great resource to have; I even like skimming through to see what new recipes/methods I can find.

I'm from a family of gift list-makers. We put together a small list of books/movies/music we'd like and others can select a few from there. If they think up another gift, they can totally ignore the list. My mom's best friend and her family would shop without lists and usually after Christmas, they all returned items to various stores and got other gifts instead. I don't see how that makes a better Christmas.

The local movie theater near my parents' house plays "It's a Wonderful Life" as a canned food drive every year, and my mom and I always go. I've seen the movie a zillion times now, but I always notice something else cool fashion/home design that the Baileys do. It's great inspiration and a great Christmas film!

Honestly, I only dust whenever we do a big clean, which is every month or so. I vacuum and change the sheets regularly, but dusting seems like such a big and thankless job. The minute after you dust things are dusty again!

A few months ago, I was locked out of my apartment. (Building maintenance came by and locked the bolt, which I never lock and didn't have a key for.) The building owners suggested a locksmith, who came by and got me in. Since it wasn't my fault, the owners gave him the okay to charge them. So I didn't owe him anything, but I keep wondering if I should have tipped him. Thoughts?

I tend to get lightheaded if I don't have anything before working out, so I'll do a cup of cereal and milk most mornings. Then after I get back from the gym, I have some fruit and coffee. I never feel full on my way to the gym, and can get a bit of a recharge after.

Has there been any comment by UO? I'd be curious to see their response. How do you even defend yourselves against stuff like this, especially when your brand tries to hard to be hip and cool and young.

I don't socialize with my neighbors, but I know at least a few of them. We live in an apartment building, and will chat with the woman next door. If I ran into a major problem, I would feel comfortable knocking on her door for help. Everyone in our building is pleasant and will say hi or chat a little in the laundry room, but we're not extremely social.

Oddly enough, our fire alarm went off a few months back and we stood outside in the cold with several other residents. It at least got us all chatting!

This is my favorite small space so far! I love the colors and how bright everything is. There's a great flow.

Prepared items tend to be dealbreakers for me. Any recipe that suggests a jar of tomato sauce gets my ire. I want to cook, not to open jars! Plus, I like knowing exactly what ingredients I'm using for a meal.

My biggest laundry room pet peeve is when people leave their laundry in a washer or dryer long after their time is up. A few minutes is fine, but don't leave your clothes in the machine for several hours.

I like to keep in mind that things are not memories. They're not the time you had, they're not the people you had an experience with. You will always have the feelings and memories, even without the object.

The Brasserie dishes from Williams-Sonoma are my very favorite. Really classic, with that hint of beautiful blue. So glad to see them included here, along with lots of other gorgeous options!

Annie from "Annie's Eats" is doing a Thanksgiving prep series, which starts here: http://annies-eats.com/2010/11/01/thanksgiving-prep-series-part-1/. She's a ridiculously awesome planner, so reading through her suggestions are very helpful.

I'd also suggest having fun with the process. Put on a cute movie/upbeat music while you cook. Get friends and family involved in the kitchen. The more it feels like a fun event, the less it will feel like a huge challenge.
