something like this corner unit?

Personally, I like that it has closed doors on it, to keep out some of the visual clutter.

that little white stand and the lamp by the TV have got to go--wasting space.

just wondering how many of these posters have children? My children love TV and one has a tablet, but it doesn't mean they are vegetables or not creative.

I would hang artwork on the blank wall to the left, and I would take everything out of the nook on the right and put a small shelf for books and a basket for toiletries. That is not a good nook for shirts, though, too high and they will just look messy. Put a small dresser UNDER that area for his shirts (one that doesn't block the A/C).

You want to stop the visual clutter that you have going on right now, so either make it a neat shelving area, or put a small hinged door on the area. Or maybe a large basket that holds off-season things or sweaters. Just say no to a curtain.

Love the place, and love it even more with the picture of the hot guy in it!

I agree that the kitchen, the bar, views, and lighting are fabulous. (Love the two pendants!). Not crazy about the fish planter. Also, this apartment is in DESPERATE need of some colorful, original large art pieces, both over the sofa, at the entrance, and then to replace the round mirror in the kitchen (like the round mirror but think there's already too much dark wood and leather tones going on in the whole apartment.)

Please show the tour again when he gets these three critical pieces of art, and maybe a more modern bed and bedding. Love the bathroom vanity though. Also any more pictures of the hot guy are welcome!

I love this bathroom! The wallpaper rocks and I love the description of traditional meets modern for this; that's my taste exactly. Love the floor tiles too--very clean and simple. I also love that mirror and the lamp shown there, but that company is a) British and b) a bit pricey for me right now. Any US versions of that mirror or ones that aren't so dear?

1) paint the cabinets white. If you can move them up a bit or put in molding between the ceiling and the top of the cabinets to make it look like 42" cabinets or less of a gap there, that'd be great too. Definitely remove railing at top of cabinets too.
2) get stainless appliances (or black as a second choice, just not white with white). stainless is timeless if you ask me, more so than avocado, almond, etc. Get a microwave/range hood if you can to clear up more counter space.
3) paint the walls a warm but pastel modern color
4)definitely switch out light fixture, and do not swag it if you can.
5) get small round modern table from cb2, westelm or ikea
5) switch out cabinet hardware
6) new sink faucet
7) bamboo blinds or roman shade, plus optional cute fabric straight valance.

If you have extra money, replace your counters (but they are pretty neutral right now) and then last, your floors.

I agree, paint over any oak!

That is a cute place. Better job that I did with my 650sq ft in DC in my 20s.

Things I like:
1) the bedding
2) the fireplace
3) the color of the sofa

Things I would add:
1) a headboard--you need something to frame your bed, the two pillows are two slight
2) I agree that the furniture set is a bit matchy and overscale for the room--swapping out the ottoman and the sofa or chair eventually or slipcovering might help temporarily
3) put some knobs or pulls on the kitchen cabinets--it will do a world of good and would probably be less than $100--maybe the landlord would reimburse you if you offered to do it?

Not to hijack, but where did you get that pillow on the couch? It looks like something Dwell but I don't know for sure and I can't find it.
