haha, this post made me laugh. about 10 years ago when my daughter was 4 or 5 she was given the most annoying loud electric toy guitar for christmas by my boss'. i figured that they must have hated me, or they would never have given her such an awful toy, haha. she loved it, so i could not donate it. one night i opened it up, and stuffed cotton balls all around the speaker. it totally worked and muffled the noise wonderfully! i never thought about using duct tape. oh goodnes, i love that you have featured this museum and webstore! we had the opportunity to visit last year, and actually met with eric carle while he signed our books. the museum is wonderful, and the selection of items in the shop is a bit overwhelming! i have never seen such a large collection of beautifully illustrated books anywhere else. and toys, collectibles, postcards, etc. it is a delightful place to visit. if you get the chance, don't hesitate! yikes! this is a disaster waiting to happen for sure! i think it would be in their best interest, to switch bedrooms with their new baby. the nursery should be on the ground level... maybe where the master bedroom is?! and the parents could bunk in the loft until the child is old enough to live safely up there... say, maybe when she is in college?! yikes. i love this room! boys rooms can be so boring sometimes, but this one is so bright and fun! i think the shelving unit is from ikea, correct? i would like to know what you used to back it (the green). and are the drawers (?) at the bottom part of their storage options? or is that what you are saying is from land of nod. i need something like this for my 13 year olds room. thanks! last year my sister sponsored an animal at best friends animal sanctuary as a gift to my husband. she chose an older pit bull that closely resembled our own pit bull. the dog was actually one of the few that were safely rescued from michael vick's property. since we are strongly opposed to animal abuse, this gift was greatly appreciated by our entire family. i loved the idea of it, and he loved that he didn't get more "stuff" that he doesn't need or want. this is a very cute room. great colors, and fabric. but i agree with the other posts about the frames above the crib. if he is 8 months old, he will soon be pulling himself up, and reaching for them. better move the crib out soon. other than that, i love everything about this space! i like the idea of this room, but it screams safety hazard! not only are the crib rails too far apart, but the crib is positioned directly under a window! this is not a safe place for a crib. also the table and shelving under the other window looks like a ladder to disaster! and all the little carved animals look like choking hazards. yikes. i hope there will be some major baby-proofing, once the little one is mobile.
