I have and love the Missoni Bee, it's a joy every time I get it out, and every time someone compliments it as usually asks where I got it. I also love the Yellow hood, I've never had it but I think it is the best standard hood for the Bee.

However in general I hate Neon, I really dislike the new Ltd Ed Cameleon Neon.

Mattresses need circulation to minimize harmful bacteria, I don't think it's actually mould, but there's a good reason beds are raised. Even box springs allow for air under. Tht said this can be managed by airing or turning the mattress daily.

Although I have encouraged independence and self determined activity as far as possible & through cosleeping neither of my kids slept in their expensive cot I would not be comfortable with a child under 1 on the floor as a regular thing.

I imagine it to be cold, scary & they *will* roll off *every night* once they roll. My daughter is 14 months and sleeps 50/50 in our bed or a toddler bed with a half side rail & there's no way she'd stay on a even our King mattress without being between us.

Maybe wait to see how things are after the baby arrives. Bassinets are pretty inexpensive and would afford you the time to work out how sleep will go in practice.

I dont agree with the pp who said the younger child takes second place and bunks cement that. I'd rather the bottom bunk to be honest, but I am the youngest and did have a bottom bunk. We had them set up in a L shape with a cubby made of cloth in the void which I *loved* I think fondly of our bunks and am currently coveting the Oeuf Perch bunks for my own kids, currently a little too young at 1 & 3.

Just the motivation I needed, my mum lived in another state for the first 3 years of my sons life and I emailed her a photo of him everyday for those 3 years. I have an insane volume of phone and other photos which is too big to manage in any way. I use keywords in iPhoto a lot but just had to upgrade my harddrive just to house it. I am going to start back cataloging them this way now.

...making a book for her of those photos would be great for mothers day, just not sure I could make that deadline!

We bought our (Peppertown fort) from eBay, the seller had already dismantled it so we picked it up, cleaned it & restained then assembled it which was a month long process, about a day to build. We saved $2k in the end, the stain, new bolts & we replaced the swing etc which added up to a few hundred on top of the price. We are thrilled with the choice dispte the work & extra costs. It's a great set up we never coud have afforded new.

It as 2 decks, 2 swings, a climbing wall, a huge slide, money bars & a sandpit, my kids love the sings & role play inside but not so much the sandpit & slide. What I didn't factor in the beautiful full-shade location was leaf/flower litter from a mock orange (I think) t thing is constantly covered by annoying small flowers & the lack of direct sunlight cultivates mildew on the canopy.

Objectively I think this is Genius & so well done. A great way to add interest.

However coming from a city that was badly flooded last year the blue bottom gives me the heebee jeebies. Without that horrendous association I'm sure it's quite fun.

Wow so impressive! Love that it's all appliqués!

I made my sister a map "quilt" using spoonflower, it turned out beautifully, definitely a great way to cut corners on the project but these are so special.

I love ours too, it's the brimfield one off etsy, but I wish I saw the DIY links first as it constantly comes out of the little slide holder at the top, admittedly usually assisted by a 3 year old, but I think they are pretty standard around growth charts. I think the length s just too much weight for the holder.

I like them, I'm also getting quite board with the extensive "debate" over them, it's very repetitive.

Saying Lego isn't already gendered is completely BS, while sure, some sets & the basic bricks are totally non-gendered (and I not see why ths would detract rom tat) this is no more endeared than ninjinjo.

LEGO Friends: Yay or Nay?

We've been, it's truly awesome, it started as a completely blank room, the room is a normal scale, if anything it might be high. I expect the dots on the ceiling were from adults jumping.

I found it a really good experience for my some times shy 3 year old and very stimulating for my 10 month old.

Best of all it's free!

How exciting that my question was in a round up! I thought I should update that in the end i found a lovely tall animal step from Kmart for $5. It is about the height of 2 of the Ikea steps so tall enough for his feet to be flat and comes in tiger, monkey, butterfly and frog if I remember correctly.

The wheely bug isn't really "first wheels" like a pp I gave my son his (small one) when he was 1. Now he's 3 he really loves it & it's the only ride on out of about 6 he uses, & santa s bringing a large one. But it pretty much sat ignored till he was 2.5, its too maneuverable for kids that aren't yet stable themselves. Untill then I vote for the simple plastic motorbike type.

My CPK is named Beccy (changed from Ophelia) I use the Present tense as she is one of maybe 5 toys I've saved for my own kids who aren't interested in her at all. Still I was so ridiculously proud & in love with her that she has planted herself on a shelf in their playroom with pride, I think rightly so now as she would be nearing 30!

My sister & I both had one at their peak, hers was named Paula, we adored them, our grandmother sew'd them many outfits and we played with them for hours & hours.

My parents must hav either had great skill in managing their kids expectations as I have no clear Christmas disappointment memory, but many memories of being giddy to have a articular toy.

Thats fantastic!

Germany has so many amazing kids spaces, even as a childless adult I was envious of their playgrounds. Now I would love to take my kids there.

I think it looks fab & is a clever Soultion.

I guess it depends on the age of kids though, my nearly 3 year old would be a nightmare sleeping above my 8 month old, but He also wouldn't be ready for bunks so it must be for older kids or a bigger gap.

Drop sides are still sold in lots of countries outside the US, in Australia they are very different to the type the US used to have, our mechanisms have to be all enclosed and there are no hinges which is safer than the rail type.

Gosh, as a previous poster mentioned they are hard to find in Australia for this reason, I have never understood what purpose they had, to read it's to keep pacifiers in alarms me to be honest.

@Megan I think there was a repurposing bumpers post ages ago.
