our entire 3 story loft home is exposed brick walls. i have 2 words for you -- orkin man. when we first moved in, we would see a few a week. 2 years later, i rarely see one, and when i do -- it's usually itty bitty or already dead. yes! i took a local class in kansas city at "the bad seed" last year on planting organic seedlings. i had just moved into a house with outdoor space and needed some basic knowledge to get me started. brooke and her husband, the owners, were SO informative and really got me hooked on the whole process of gardening. since last march, it's become an obsession!!!! how cool! that's actually our old place -- ! we sold it last summer and heard it was available for rent now! :) as a backstory on the bathroom -- we intended for the room to have sort of a ship feeling. there was a big antique print of a ship on stormy waters on the wall next to the toilet ... hence the blue. the 1027 is sort of an homage to my first date with my husband. that loft was a h.u.g.e labor of love for us and we're romantic like that. enjoy your new space, sarah rae! i hope you love it as much as we did!
