FOR INDOORS: Gardenias can be indoor plants, sure they will thrive on your porch in the sun but if you have an equally sunny window they will do great. However, I noticed someone mentioning they have a hard time with them. They do need A LOT of water, like you can never let the soil dry out. This will encourage them to re-bloom. You must be an attentive plant owner but they can and will thrive and they smell wonderful.

Stephanotis is a type of jasmine flower that we sell at the florist that I work at, it will also continue to re-bloom and do great as an indoor plant. It also needs lots of light and water at least twice a week. I believe it is the jasmine variety that will do the best as an indoor plant.

Hyacinths will work indoors but don't last very long...they are also bulb plants so will not re-flower unless planted outdoors in the fall to come back in the spring.

I feel that mentioning all these fantastic trees like magnolia and lilac is great, but obviously do not fit the purpose of this post for helping those in small spaces get some fragrance going on!

I bought tote bags, pillowcases and scarves by Jenna Rose after discovering her on Etsy, while attempting to purchase Canadian-made (I live in Montreal). I was really impressed by the gorgeous printing designs up-close and the quality of the fabrics. I will continue to be a valued customer, since I love the idea of having local, handmade objects to accessorize my home : )

The wreath in number 6 is pretty horrifying...

However, I agree that the pine cone snowflake is lovely and number 1 is cute, too.

Don't put any soft drinks or aspirin in the water or any other substance you may have heard of. Cut flowers as well as trees last longer when the water is fresh and contains no bacteria. Adding other things to the water could increase bacterial growth and thus reduce the life of your tree.

Predictable list! Sorry, but this is up there with the choices on gifts.com and every other site that has really boring ideas.

You two own so many fabulous things. I especially love the wood and textiles, and I second the opinion on the kitchen island, it is a gorgeous piece of furniture. Nice space!

I like how it looks in this space. I feel the high ceilings are a plus, this wouldn't have the same impact in my space, it would just make the room feel smaller. Love that bedspread, too.

I used homeaway.com last year, and found a great central location for a good price. I tried some of the other websites and the service wasn't as straightforward and simple. Try it out, it allows you to choose locations in different arrondissements in Paris. Enjoy!

I find this sort of half works for me. I am usually reluctant to cover a window because natural light is so valuable in a space. I don't feel it works well in some of these images for that very reason, however, the shape and design created by the image #1 is sort of intriguing in terms of design. The last one I find awful.

Sorry to be the negative one, I realize this is sparkling water and thus different but the concept of designer water just disgusts me, frankly.

"Designer" water turns bottled water into a commodity, which is against all humanitarian ideals in my opinion. Bottled water means less attention to public systems in our communities and the corporatization of something which should be available to all.

Personally I'd rather the designers put their labels on something else instead of supporting companies like Evian. Maybe I'm alone in this...
