I used to be kind of sheepish about it, but I've never had an employee (retail or otherwise) give me any flak for returning things. I've never gone as far as intending to return one of 2 bathtubs, but I've bought clothes online in multiple sizes and fits fully intending to return some of them. This is what I'm looking doing as well. Since I don't have enough cash to put down the 20% anyway, the monthly PMI hit for putting the minimum down is not significantly more than what it would be if I put the 15% I was planning on. That gives me about the amount of cash to play with that I was going to need for the reno anyway (the initial ones anyway....hehehe).
