I've read in the bath for 30 years and never ever dropped a book or gotten it wet!

Every time I've made glitter playdough, it's never left glitter behind. The excitement my girls have is much more worth it than a clean house.

If these are easy to wash and reuse...would these work for pureed fruit?

I love the idea as kids love defined spaces, it's a whole new experience for them. But I too am wondering if that's secured somehow...my kids would climb it in a heartbeat.

ebarrett3...because the whole system is easily removable...including the screwtop part. So you put the big stuff in the bag, leaving enough of the bag at the top to thread through the bottle opening. When you want to access the food, take the whole bottle bit off. Done.

Yes, in an ideal world we wouldn't use plastic bags at all...but let's face it, sometimes it's going to happen.

Posts like this always make me wish I had random closets everywhere that could be repurposed - I'd love to turn a little closet like this into a reading nook too...growing up there was a little nook built into our hallway just near the kitchen, specifically for the telephone (remember when they had cords? LOL). It had a seat, floating open shelf (phone book underneath, phone and pad of paper on top) and a light. Storage cupboards above and below. All designed by my grandmother. Sigh. I miss that house....particularly the storage EVERYWHERE.

Our house has a huge nook that is lined with custom-built bookshelves...but it constantly looks messy and my girls empty every book onto the floor to find one they want. So my husband is building a front-facing bookshelf to fit in front of it. That way, the higher shelves still display my books (colour coded!), we can use the space behind the front-facing shelf as storage for toys/books for now, and we can remove it later on.

I love the idea!!! But I have a sewing machine and a pile of old towels, so I think I'll DIY.

sue...rainbows are fun!!!

I'm enjoying the rainbow posts...especially since it's the theme for my daughter's next birthday party!

I've actually made these before, but added corresponding fruit to each layer (though we added pears to the blue since we couldn't get blueberries). Next time though, I may just use a few flavors and combine them for the orange and green layers, since seven flavors was a little overwhelming for the kids.

We ended up changing the faucet to one that could swing back against the wall. Problem solved.

I've been either pregnant or breastfeeding for several years now, so have well and truly converted back to plain tap water with ice.
