hi AT i don't know about this one, marc jacobs abandoned the polka dots of last spring's show for stripes for this year's spring show and the damien hirst polka dot series of paintings is sitting unsold at gagosian the art world panned them at at basel/miami this winter, i think this trend is last year, although maybe home design takes longer to catch on than fashion, you thoughts?

we are also over saturated with images and blogs and pinterest, it makes it hard to ascertain what is a need versus a want, another thought, i have started buying artisanal, hand made or limited edition pieces, often less expensive and more interesting because most things move from high fashion or decor to knockoffs so fast that it is very difficult to be an individual not a trend victim. i have taught myself to take a breath and wait to make sure it is a need not a want and reflects my vision not someone else's, that being said yours is my favorite dreamy blog for real ideas not just trendy bits.

hi i have a quick tip, clean out your bookshelves, my apartment is going to be painted and i realized that i had not edited my bokshelves in two years, by simply bringing one shopping bag a day to housing works and having some clear spaces on the shelves my space looks better a charity benefits and people get new very cheap 1/2$ a piece books to enjoy, a win for everybody

Hi i would go with the greige if it doesn't read too lavender, but, pick the darkest compatible shade from the rug that echoes the watermelon table and paint one wall that color the help define what you describe as a multi purpose space, you would give your readers this advice. good luck diane
