Aww! I think they're awesome! I'd paint them some metallic color that coordinates with your house (or, if the house is all neutrals, go bold like chartreuse or fuschia) and let them live there. Don't yank them out!

I'm sorry, but I'm not going to pay $90 for a placemat. I have a high chair that hooks on to the table and we just use a regular plastic placemat (found at the clearance table of a local housewares boutique for $2). I'm not worried about spills running off the placemat b/c since we're all at the table I can steer a bowl back on to the placemat instead of it getting dumped on the floor or table. I also tape paper to the table for crayon time. I use painter's tape so it doesn't damage the table.

We lived on a cul-de-sac growing up and we were always outside playing. If we went outside of viewing area of our house we just ran inside, told Mom where we'd be (most of the time in someone's backyard) and ran out again to play. I did this from before kindergarten to when we moved. I thought that's what everyone did. We thought we were "big" kids who were independent. We just had to be home by the time the street lights came on. Little did I know that all the moms in the entire subdivision had each other on speed dial so they could let each other know where their kids were.

I plan on doing that when my little one gets old enough to play outside by himself. I made sure that we stay in a very family oriented neighborhood.

Ugh, it told me my style was "earth mover" the close cousin to rustic. I am soooo not rustic. I chose the images with the most eclectic and vintage-y pieces in them and they were far from "earthy." Ah-well. I know what I like so no quiz is going to sway me from that...

Wow! Flashback to 1985 middle America! I remember the knockoff versions in everyone's parents' entryways when I was little.

Ours is a catchall now and we still need it as a highchair! It's getting donated or given away as soon as we don't use it as a highchair anymore--one less thing to catch the stuff we don't know what to do with.

We used a bumper for our son because instead of scooting down in his crib, he would roll on to his belly and scoot up and bang his head on the slats repeatedly. He would keep digging in those toes till he found a corner and then sleep for hours. So yeah, he needed a bumper. It was lightweight and plain white (so obviously not for looks).

I would have loved this room as a little girl.

As far as the print, I love it. I would have loved it then, too. I was obsessed with frankie and annette movies when I was 7ish and that bikini looks just like the ones in all those old movies. You can read more into it if you want, but a little girl will most likely say that the print is about summer and retro and cool.

And the ones who read more into the print than need be also are the ones who read more into phrases than need be.

We moved when our little one was 3 weeks old and we used a handmedown snuggle nest during our move. It was just me and little one staying at family for a week and I would swaddle him and lay him in there next to me. That way I didn't have to take the pack and play (the car was packed to the gills) and he was young enough to not roll over. I liked it. Pretty convenient for that. I would recommend for travel but not for everyday...

Has anyone else found that the one size diapers are bulky for the two smallest settings?

We have a couple of Bum Genius 2.0 and they are just super bulky. And they always leaked around the legs. I got so tired of that that I started making my own diapers and covers. Shameless plug here-I started selling them on Etsy at TheEliMonster.etsy.com-sorry had to do since we're talking about what diapers fit out children best and where to find them.

JudiAU-I like the naturecare diapers for long outings. They're a little stiff but if you shake them out they soften up quite a bit. And really cute. No silly cartoon characters!

I understand the pricing, I make cloth diapers and sell them (I've gotten a few, "that's really high for a diaper"s) but really? 25? We just use old bath towels that we cut up. Can't get much greener than that (no new material and saving old material from ending up in a landfill). We've never had a problem with slipping, I don't know why that's such a problem for people.

Okay, now they aren't nearly as adorable as yours. And some people with too much money to spend on funny little things will probably gobble them up but if I spent $25 on a burp rag it better run around and clean the spitup itself (as our son never hit the target and ended up spitting up all down our back or on our shoes or anywhere but the burp rag).

My best friend growing up lived in a black house. I always wanted to live there...

I love it. Especially the pink door.

Oh man, I havent seen one in years! There used to be a booth at our Fall Festival in my hometown that sold those. They sold like crazy (why, that's beyond me). i really thought those went out of vogue (if they were ever in vogue) with the costumed geese from the 80s. Ah, small town living...

Ah the days us running around like sugar-fuelled maniacs... I miss them.

Always had two parties. One after thanksgiving dinner was over (my birthday was usually the weekend after) with extended family. But it only was a cake with candles and some presents. Everyone was gathered for the holiday, just throw in a birthday!

Then some weekend I'd have the kid party, which was exactly as the previous poster described.

And that's how my son's party will be. No Chucky Cheese, no rented clown, nothin but some kiddos imaginations.

So much fun,

We painted our crib with some baby friendly paint and added teething guards on the top rail as an added measure. It's totally doable.

Probably not; you might want to try gdiapers. The flushable liners snap into place (I'm assuming-I've never tried them myself, but I've heard good things).

All companies claim to fit better than other brands, it just depends on the baby. My son did not fit into those well so I made my own. An added plus to that is I get to pick the fabric and am not constrained by what the store has to offer.

Oh man, I HAD an almost identical as a teen. It served me well through my college years, too. Then I got a queen bed and it didn't fit. My mom painted the bed chocolate brown to use in her room and it looks great.

I sure as heck didn't pay 1000 for the bed. I got it at a junk shop for 30 bucks and a bottle of furniture cleaner. I'm sorry but 1000 for a bed that she may or may not use in 5 years? Eeek. I would have to think long and hard about spending that much on a bed now. I'd much rather spend 100 bucks at a flea market and get a can of paint.
