skipping these & going straight to the toilet sounds great, but 19 month old pipsqueak is obsessed with using the potty on her own, which she couldn't do without these little seats. we got this as a gift and didn't have much luck with it - looks great, but agree that the toys are a bust & the bar comes off too easily - and unfortunately the first time I put my daughter in it, she puked from the vibrations! argh. It's also very limited in function - we had much better luck with a swing which allows change of speeds & has more interesting dangling toys. I love this house... my out of town guests always recognize it from "Clueless" (when Alicia Silverstone is depressed and takes a walk, she strides past this house).
