For the Knitter's, the closest Missoni-esque blanket pattern I've found is the Zig and Zag Sock Yarn Baby Pram Blanket by Debbie Orr. It's a free pattern on Ravelry.com (also free).

I love the look of Missoni, but don't quite get the frenzy that caused the line to sell out in 11 minutes at my local LA Target. Cute stuff, no doubt.

You can also use the cushions and pillows from your couch, or rugs. We used a number of rugs to protected our framed art/photos and they worked great. We used a lot of our large tupperware and pots and pans as boxes for breakables. Important documents and things that could not be lost went into extra suitcases. That way we knew anything in a suitcase was either staying with us, or contained something we might need.

I have a whole bunch of cups from Target. They are mostly clear and appear to have water in their sides with little toys floating around. They are durable (taken many throw downs!), easily to clean, and hold enough liquid for a tot/preschooler to drink comfortably. And I liked that they were somewhat attractive and fun.

Don't buy their transparent plastic cups from Target - we've cracked every single one.

I think it would be amazing to have a soaking bath at night and be able to see the night horizon. The stars are probably obscured by all the city lights so that won't be visible - but the feeling of the great expanse of sky above would be amazing.

I do think walking around your bathroom naked would be problematic in the long term however. Perhaps this is just a display bathroom and the real "workhorse" bathroom is below?

Where's the Cake? And Where's the Cake Now? by T. T. Khing. It's funny that they books says "translated from the Dutch" when they both don't any words in them. Great pictures, many different visual story lines. We enjoy making up new stories each time we "read" them.

This is by far my favorite knit blanket. One day I will make one of my own. I hope that I can create a similarly striking palette.

I really think it would help to have some context here - a pic of your current home would be great! The first thing that came to mind was a dusky blue and would nicely complement the aged wood. You could punch up the impact of the blue with some bright pillows or blanket, or make the chair blend more if left alone.

If you have a very bright home, I thinks some bright chartreuse or leopard print would be fun. Or a fuschia velvet - bright! - would be fun.

My initial reaction to pain the ceiling white and get a white table and white chairs - something very sleek and clean - metal legs that are slim preferably. I would also go with a white sideboard or bookcase if you need them, and then add some color in the way of a multi-color table runner that has both white and red. Dishes/vases/pitchers could be a mix of white and red with some aqua or yellow thrown in for a n accent. I would stay away from dark colors - dark espresso browns or black. I like the idea of a grey - but that would likely keep the room very "dark and deep" instead of lightening up with room in both feel and "look."

Less *can* be more - but I have to say that I always looked forward to something new each time I logged on. But I will trust that this new diet will continue to provide ample reading/interesting material for me. Looking forward to it - bring it on!

I tend to keep containers of products that I use on a regular basis. Right now I have 5 round white plastic tubs from a thick cream that I use. I just peel off the labels - thankfully they didn't use a very adherent adhesive! - and matching storage jars.

I've also done this with glass jars for my kitchen and old glasses that I've inherited from friends or family.

My first impression considering that you want color was something in turquoise/green-blue. I think it would complement all your counters/cabinets.

But I know that some people believe that the color red helps to stimulate the appetite and make for a festive food atmosphere - but I just think a red would be too aggressive for the feel of the room.

No yellow, no greens. The griege is nice - but too expected and tame. But if you're going for serene, leaving as is would work.

I like the European philosophy - don't have too much, but what you do have is very high quality. I feel that it really helps cut down on clutter and there is something very satisfying about using that wonderful object that you really treasure. That being said, I find that I tend to spend money on those things that I will use everyday - a nice table, chair, jeans - and then try to repurpose or borrow those things that I use more infrequently.

I just remember the Italian men that I met only having 2 or 3 suits, but they were Armani or some other exquisitely made item. Their homes would be simply furnished, but with items that were beautiful enough to stand on their own.

I also believe in buying items that fit your space, so I do have some issue with spending tons of money on an item that may not work in your next space.

A sleigh bed would work, or something with an upholstered headboard/footboard might fit with the soft, drapey look of the room.

Personally I think a nice chaise lounge in a dark wood upholstered in dark rich velvet would be a nice touch.

A friend of mine has a bedroom that evokes the same feel, but her inspiration was the Vegas hotels. She found a lot of 1920's style decor that I think might work in your room. They were very sumptuous and glamorous in feel.

Can anyone comment on the how easy it is to balance on one of these bikes? I wonder if it would feel wobbly or be hard to maneuver.

Now this is what I've been looking for! However I'm moving to a bike un-friendly town - LA. I think I could get away with this on the Santa Monica beach, but I don't think this would be a safe option in the rest of the city. Drat!! Perfect for Austin, though!

I just ordered this memory game from a store called Kidostore based in Australia. I only got notice that they charged my credit card for the purchase, but email confirmation for the order. I also sent an email to them and haven't heard back. Anyone ever order from them or hear about them? I'm worried that they may have just charged my credit card, and I won't get the beautiful memory game.

I ordered it about 4 days ago.

I just made some! Used the Wilton paste coloring and getting some rich colors. I'm thinking of making this for some gifts this year. Plus - we can use it to replace Cranium clay for our friends.

I saw album frames at Target the other day, too! I don't remember exactly what the colors/materals were, but being Target, I'm sure it's stylish.

Frozen pineapple rings - they're cold and hard so they soothe the gums. And they contain and enzyme that helps soften the gums, too.
