I love this home. It makes great use of the color theme, providing a cool crisp look and feels very accessible. Great job Jen!

I have donated copious amounts of items to salvation army, etc. The tax write off has been embarrassingly impressive...

Food, I donate to friends with big families.

I haven't bought most bathroom type items for a few years in an attempt to use all the lotions, soaps, etc that I've gotten as gifts or collected.

I tried a garage sale, which was effective, but scheduled the salvation army run right after.

And after going through all that after my last move, I just keep purging monthly now...my tastes are clearly a bit more minimal now after moving a few times...

As an avid bookworm and audiophile, one day I also realized the tons of books and cds I had. They weren't going to fit in my new place, and the financial cost of moving and storing them, as well as what it cost to buy them was overwhelming.

I inventoried everything and used the limitation of one bookshelf to nail down to the must haves that I enjoy reading over and over again. I sold some of the cds, and donated the rest to the public library.

Now, I wander bookstores and Amazon for new ideas of books I want to read, and then reserve at the library. They send to my closest branch, and I make sure to logon to the renewal site every 3 weeks to renew so I don't get pinged with late fees.

I use rhapsody for the music collection now, buying only the music I truly love.

I love it. I think the white wall helps balance it out...my only instinct is to put that red chair at a diagonal and the white chest as well maybe? It looks like there is a space issue, but it gives it that railway car look right now with everything against the walls.

I'm digging the coffee table and do enjoy that red and white chair.

the white chair in that first photo looks comfie. I wouldn't mind a pop of color, though to another posters comment, it is frighteningly a bit too 80s.

I have the Hemnes bed in the pine unfortunately (though I've been debating painting it espresso to change to look i want) and I have had great luck with it for 6 years. I had to get a new bolt (cam?) at one point.

I also had an Ektorp sofa, and still have the chair for about 6 years as well. Also very sturdy and no complaints. And when I got bored with the color, I just bought new covers.
