My little shih-tzu poodle mix troublemaker, Mini (named after the car not the mouse), has always had an issue with knowing what things are okay to have in her mouth.

I had just spent a good $500 at my dentist getting fitted for a mouth guard the week before since I have the horrible habit of grinding my teeth at night. I wake up one morning to run in our living room to answer my cell phone, rip the mouth guard out of my mouth so that I don't sound like Cindy Brady talking, and set it down on the coffee table. I sat on the couch right in front of it so I wasn't too worried about Mini grabbing it. My boyfriend (who was the one that called) had asked me to check on something for him in the room. I run into the room, grab what he asked for and return to the living room. I look up and there is Mini sitting on our floor pillow with something in her mouth. As soon as we make eye contact, the little rascal bolts. I glance at the coffee table and notice the missing mouth guard, and all I can scream is "Noooooooooooooo! Nonononononono!". Granted the mouth guard is meant to be in a mouth, but not in HER mouth.

okay so my nightmare isn't half as bad as some of these but it was not fun for me. a month after signing a 1 year lease and moving into my last apartment, a slew of bugs came flying through a tiny hole in one of my door frames. i had no idea why the little buggers kept invading pieces of tape and my textbooks. needless to say, i was grossed out and told my apartment manager. she tells me, "oh. i guess the termites are back. they're here every time it gets hot. we'll just plug up the hole." what the heck?! anyone that has had termites knows that they will just make a new hole (which they did).

i never realized how much these things can eat until i had to buy a new bed, 2 book shelves, a printer stand, picture frames, and a desk. my furniture looked like swiss cheese after just a week. i was in grad school at the time and had to explain to people why my textbooks had holes in most of the pages too.

needless to say, i did not renew my lease. i'm just waiting to hear on the news that this apartment building was eaten by termites. (the owners refuse to treat the buildings because it's too costly. wait until you have no building at all lady.)

i absolutely cannot eat peanut butter. peanuts, yes. peanut butter makes me yak. i think it's a textural thing. i wish i liked it because there seem to be so many delicious looking desserts out there.

i'm also not a huge fan of chocolate (mostly cake, ice cream, and other desserts). i want to love it. i really do. then people would stop saying i'm such an odd female to not like chocolate.

i live in on the border of newport beach/costa mesa in CA. i have a 1 bedroom 600 square foot apartment and i pay $1288/month. that includes my dog's "pet rent." (they'll do anything to get some extra money out of you.) utilities run about $50 a month. wow i need to move...

is it weird that i've never had a moth problem?

now that i've said that i'm sure when i get home my closet will be flooded with moths.
