I agree with the post about overlaping leases or apartment to house. I Did this twice and it was definately worth the money, and I was able to move things gradually. The last two moves I on including the house I bought needed cleaning top to bottom. I would say that the Kitchen especially the fridge, Bathroom, followed by floors were the necessity. For my house I also painted the bedrooms, living room and bathroom to freshen it up. I think that the apartments I rented were cleaner than the house. Your New Rental: 5 Spots To Clean Well |

Wonderful remodel. I think removing the panelling gives the living room a whole new formal/calming feeling. For me the 50's panelling look reminds me of rec rooms and attics. It kind of makes me feel like the walls are closing in. While I love mid century furniture I would remove or paint the knotty one every time. I love it. Even the painted accents. I am almost done refinishing a secretary desk that didn't look quite that bad but very close. It is very time consuming but thrilling to find a beautiful wood piece under all that paint. Before & After: A Trashed Curbside Dresser Eve of Reduction |

I am feeling extremely lucky after reading these posts I have had my 3Gs for a few years and have dropped it many times and it is still intact even after my cover popped off in the drop onto the cement. Tales of Broken iPhones |

I used at Kenmore machine from Sears for years without a problem before I bought a Viking. If you are planning on sewing multiple layers of heavy fabric a more expensive machine may be worth is to avoid the frustration of many brooken needles. The Kenmore was inexpensive never needed any repairs. I used it on any table in my house without a problem. I sew on a iKea gate leg table, great for cutting, sewing, has storage and I can fold it down so it doesn't take up space. Best Small-Space Sewing Machine? Good Questions |

I lived in Boston for 7 years in my 20's and loved every minute of it. I lived in the Fenway Symphony neighborhood for the first year then 6 years in Jamaica Plain. I did use a retail estate broker which although costly was easy because they took my roommate and I around to multiple apartments in two days. It can cost as much as a months rent but sometimes the landlord will pay part of the fee. I also remember that the majority of apartments were available Sept 1. If you want to be in an urban area Fenway is good, cheaper than South End and Back Bay. Jamaica Plain has a lot of triple deckers so smaller buildings with larger apartments. I also liked having the Pond and the Arboretum near by as well as good restaurants and the T. I lived across from Forrest Hills Station which was so convenient and even it seems loud, trust me you get used to it. If you are going to have a car, many of the neighborhoods require a parking permit. When living in Fenway I did find that I was often parking a couple of blocks from my apartment. My roommate ended up in Southie after I moved, I always enjoyed going to visit her when she lived there. I believe that it is also affordable by Boston standards and has a lot to offer in restaurants, near by walking paths at castle island and a gritty Boston feel. I can't remember the name of the popcorn trailer on S. Congress but the carmel and cinnamon roll flavors were wonderful. As for cupcakes I would skip the trailers and check out Sugar Mama's on South 1st. Apartment Therapy Los Angeles | Look: Austin's Food Trailer Explosion! Austin |
