Decorate your fridge! I had a friend spray paint his fridge red. Just take off the handles. It looks great and you can just spray paint it back to white when you move.

Hanging plants, shelves, table runner, clock, mirrors, two more plants, more light sources (floor, tables), coffee table, kitty litter cover (also if there's no basement, personally i would put it in the living room or the bathroom for hygiene).

Gah! That marble and stone is gorgeous. I vote to let that play center stage and go with a high quality flat or satin true white or complementary gray.

I would go extremely minimal to accentuate the good bones. Gloss black, chocolate brown, and other neutrals with a pop of a single accent.

If you go with chocolate brown, I actually think a white bordered storm door might work since that would match the windows.

Another vote for all white! White bedding, true-white walls, minimalist white window treatments. I would go with one or two bright, bold accents like orange and/or yellow, as well as a huge, square canvas (post-1960 inspired) on the bookshelf wall.

Also, personally, I would paint the bed itself a gloss black for that 2001: A Space Odyssey look, but I can see why someone else might not.
