Who said the garlic press was uncool?!
I use mine all the time. About a year ago, I was in a friends kitchen helping prep the meal, and asked where the press was. You'd have thought I asked where they kept the cyanide. "Oh, we have one, but we don't use it" - often, I still think of that moment and am puzzled. It's just easier to use a press. And if that's uncool - well, so be it.

Filet with asparagus and a cab. Dark Choc-o-love bar for dessert. Simple. Easy. and then we can go out next week to a restaurant, if we want to - no need to fight the amateurs tonight.

Loooving it. So serene and flowy - in a tempered and masculine way. I really want to lounge and have cocktails in that lovely space outside. Thanks for sharing.

My head hitting the pillow. Done. Out. REM all night. Lucid dreams and I wake early and refreshed. I love the way I sleep.

A nice bright (indoor/outdoor) patterned runner would look great - and be able to handle the foot and bike traffic. Could you move the coat rack down past the doorway? Then where the coatrack currently is, you could hang a big mirror to reflect light from the door and find a console table (long and narrow) to hold a plant and a spot for a 'landing strip'. If you can't hang the bikes on the wall - perhaps 3 big bright prints above them - along that wall to brighten and draw the eye...

Thank you @Foodforthoughtlinds - our son is a problem feeder and even though I knew something was wrong since the age of 2 - his pediatrician did not refer him to OT until he was 6. We've been in group feeding therapy for 12 weeks and are seeing 'baby steps' in his eating with MUCH less anxiety (ie: screaming, crying, cupping hands to mouth and often throwing up on the table at the sight of a food). These children will starve themselves because they cannot process the sensory input they are receiving from the food (visual, tactile, scent) and I've learned we don't just sit down to eat - it takes 32-steps for the body to do so. If any of those 32 steps are out of sync - you will have an issue and will have to retrain the pathways of the brain to accept new food.

Packaged food is deemed 'safe' by these children because they are consistent and reliable in look and taste. Homemade food is always going to be slightly different and problem feeders will be immediately turned off and refuse to eat it.

All kids are "picky" but there are the 10% that are problem feeders and they truly will not eat. You can bet we have no pictures of our kid covered in cake or with food all over his face - he does did/does not want to be covered in food, let alone eat (most) of it.

Trust your instincts and your intuition. You are your child's best advocate!

My child (now 6) would never go near Santa. Once referred to him as Santa Claws. He's terrified of sitting on a strange man's lap and I'm perfectly ok with that.

We have a bunch in a glass globe similar to this one:

Anyone can come along and pick it up and turn the globe around to interact with it and look at the buttons. It can easily be moved to a new location in the home at any time. It's a breeze to clean/dust and always a conversation piece.

Cleaning out my closet has been on my 'to do" list for a while now. Thank you for the tips. One thing that helps me is not only labeling the items I store away, as you mentioned - but also making a list of what I need to replace - either now, for the new season, or as a reminder for next summer when I go to toss on those loved and worn flip flops, completely forgetting I had thrown them away.

We have two dark brown Wassily chairs that most people avoid sitting in - and we don't care. Despite them being uncozy, they have a family history and we adore them.

I also adore Luna. What a peach!

We are solitary creatures, we don't run in packs. I love being alone in my own home - but I do share it with my husband and 5 year old. We all have our quirks and on some level I hope that house guests take note of how one particular household is run compared to another.
My best friend is very fastidious and when I stay with her I try to make sure I keep up with her style of home keeping. She once threw a NYE party that went well into the night and at 2a insisted on cleaning the entire house, including mopping the floor! I asked her why it just couldn't wait til morning and she said she just didn't want to wake up to a mess. I personally value my sleep more than a clean floor at 2a - but ... to each her own.
