I just bought this case yesterday at Best Buy. I agree with your review. The power off button on the top is very difficult to press with the case on (haven't messed with the ring/vibrate switch or the volume buttons yet). It's also difficult to get a good seal on my screen protector with the case on the phone. I'm thinking I'll stick with this case until something better comes a long. It's not the best but it's not the worst either.

I never knew how much of the world was geared towards righties until I had a lefthanded child. It's hard to find universally designed items or leftie-specific items!

I found out that nail polish will come out of carpet with Windex...now to get rid of the vaguely bluish tint to my white carpet in various spots.

I'd love to know how to get red nail polish off of a wood table that's been dried there for a while (months) and out of the upholstery on a chair. Nail polish remover did not work. :(

Do people still use mousepads? I thought most people either had trackpads/balls or an optical mouse. If you don't have any of those, and still have the old kind of mouse, a mousepad actually causes more dust to get into your mouse. It's better to not use a mousepad at all.

But this is cute!

I also would like to know where the rack in the picture is from. I wouldn't use it in my daughter's room, I'd like to use it in my sewing room for finished garments!

I gave my daughter my old one when she turned one. She's 4.5 now and still rides on it. It's solid wood and has a few broken spots that my husband needs to fix (yay Army movers) but she rides on it anyway! I'd say if it's a quality piece, go for it!

Since we don't have a mantle, I found a wrought iron stocking stand on Brylane Home. http://www.brylanehome.com/decor/Wrought-Iron-Stocking-Stand-and-Damask-and-Velvet-Stocking-Trio.aspx?PfId=15208&DeptId=18905&ProductTypeId=2&PurchaseType=0&pref=pvp

It looks great and we'll use it for years to come.

My mother always tied our trees up with fishing wire and then used non-breakable ornaments. When our daughter was 7 months old she wasn't crawling yet so we just put the breakable ornaments up high. The next 3 years we were in Georgia right up until Christmas (my husband is Army) so we didn't put up a tree. I didn't see a point. This year she's 4 and a half and is old enough to know not to touch the downstairs tree. She has her own tree upstairs with non-breakable ornaments that she can touch all she wants. Works for us!

I have a 4 year old that enjoys games and such as well. I have downloaded games and kids' apps on my iPhone and she LOVES to play them when we're waiting for appointments or we're at the grocery store. I compared a DS to an iTouch and realized that the iTouch is far more cost effective and better for a young child. First, there are no styluses to lose with an iTouch, it's all done by hand/finger. Second, all of the games/apps are loaded onto the iTouch instead of having to haul along numerous games that can get damaged/lost. Third, the games/apps on the iTouch are relatively inexpensive. Lots are free, many are no more than $5. DS games are expensive, you're out money if one (or more) gets lost, broken or the child doesn't like it. For my money, the iTouch is a better deal for a young child.

I would be afraid of mildew. My husband used a trashcan for a hamper for a while and with the humidity and if he put anything in that was slightly damp, it'd mildew almost immediately.

My daughter has a Teddy Bear named "Ronnie" and another named "Homer". Turns out she was trying to say "Brown Bear" from "Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See?" but we heard Ronnie and Homer.

I wouldn't paint either. I'd seal them and go with a bold patterned Sunbrella fabric for the cushion.

If you really want to paint, go BOLD. Bright red, bright turquoise, lime green, something fun like that. :)

A lot of how a line turns out has to do with how you peel the tape off. You don't pull the tape straight off towards you, you have to pull or roll the tape back against itself to get a cleaner line.

Under instead of over so if they try to spin the roll it just spins instead of unrolls. Cheap solution. I also like the "smooshing" the roll idea.

As far as getting sick of feeding kids one thing while adults eat another? Heck yeah, I'm sick of it! I volunteer on Wednesday nights as a "Table Parent" at a church function called LOGOs. In years past the function was held in the basement where we had a dedicated kitchen where we could feed the kids burgers, chicken nuggets, hot dogs, tacos, etc. This year, the basement is being renovated so we moved up to the gym and we have to share the kitchen with the adult family dinner fellowship. We started out serving the kids what the adults were eating. I'm not talking gourmet food here, just regular grown-up food. The kids refused to eat it because it wasn't "kid food." Parents complained and we had to revert back to serving kid food which meant that our single kitchen had to prepare 2 meals. As a parent, at my own house, I prepare one meal. I will try to make sure that it's something that my 3 year old might like but I won't go out of my way to make "kid food" just for her. We eat what all of us like. Catering to juvenile tastes rather than expanding palates is definitely not the way to go, in my opinion.

Sorry this was so long. This is a bit of a soapbox issue for me. :)
