Personally, I am not a fan of cloth. Your guests stain them feel bad and it creates laundry for you. I prefer my placemats to be made of something that I can easily wipe down and put away after each use. Use something more durable such as a thick pad to put under serving dishes so you can buffer away any heat which may adversely affect your table.

Love it! I painted an old dresser a similar shade of orange and I couldn't be happier. I love the other colors/decor that you have in your dining room too. The vibrancy of the dresser makes for a really inviting space.

Unfortunately, some insurances will only cover them if there is a "medical indication" for them. I am a doula and I always encourage mothers to find out what their insurance provides or if you qualify for one through another channel such as WIC. If you have to get one on your own, I highly recommend a double pump.

My favorite ginger dish for when I am not feeling well is Arroz Caldo. Here is a recipe that is very similar to the one in my family. I would double or triple the ginger it calls for.

I often also add a little nob of fresh peeled ginger to my water or tea. That can definitely help soothe a sore mouth or throat.

I think this piece would look great in a bright color. It's hard to say what would look best with your other decor. I'm not quite a red person like many of the other commenters. I'm thinking orange, goldenrod, deep seafoam, robin's egg blue, or magenta. Take a stroll through the paint aisle and find a color that sings to you and will go with the plants or knick knacks you already have. The lines in this gem of a sidewalk find, beg for a good, bold color. I recently painted an old wooden dresser a rich tangelo and every time I see it in my bedroom, the color just makes me smile. Have fun with it and post an update!
