I registered for the Century Service for our wedding. It's so stunning and classic! I have been slowly collecting the pieces and love the service. I love that it's a cream (doesn't come in other colors) as it really complements all of the other colors of various dishes we own. Great post - I didn't know that much about her.

So sad to have missed the ATL book signing! I didn't know about it until now, but most definitely would have attended. Hope you enjoyed the south!

I am a museum curator and label things daily. This would seriously satisfy my need to organize my life at home - much to my husbands dismay. Bwwaahahahaaaa.

These are wonderful machines. My husband and I first experienced one of these in our honeymoon suite in Montreal. We loved it, and the coffee is amazing!!! We got some espresso cups as a wedding gift, and with something like this, we could use them! Fun!

Love it. Not for me but I love it. And I love her strange and often questionable fashion sense. You can't help but look and pick it apart, but honestly, she's doing something right.
She is excessive. her house is controlled chaos with a lot of wonderful 3-D surrealism/Beetlejuice elements. It's playful and honestly if I were a kid in that house I'd feel like I was in a funhouse - not that it looks like they actually live there. From a design/artistic standpoint, I think it's interesting and bizarre! The whole house is a conversation starter. What bothers me most is that there is no calm area in that house save for the pool and patio. The two images I kept going back to...
I also like that her style provokes strong feelings and emotions from those that view her work. If it didn't it wouldn't be at all interesting or wothwhile. She pushes the envelop and pushes buttons at the same time, yet certain design elements you see in her work make into the mainstream not too long after.
It seems there is a certain sense of humor in her work as well which is great. I think sometimes home design has gotten too serious and understated. We dress up ourselves, why not our homes? I have a thing for dress forms, shoe lasts, hat forms, glove forms, etc so her fascination with sculptural heads and forms interests me, but I don't think they do anything for the DR table.

Regarding the earthquake comment above - I agree. Given her knowledge and experience, I would think she has already invested in a good deal of quake wax for sure - at least I hope so!

P.S. The only sad thing about displaying Pez on the wall that way is that UV light will degrade the plastic faster than you can imagine.

I LOVE the PEZ collection display! I have about 200 and People always find it funny that I collect them, yet still give them to me... Currently I have them in a box (intermingled with about 10 or so L'il Homies that were from a friend).
This is a fun display solution! Thanks for the post!

My friends are away on vacation in Canada and here in Atlanta their tomatoes are looking fine and delish and the herbs and peppers are ripe for the picking! Our deal was the same. To help myself to whatever I wanted while they were away. And I made some killer pesto yesterday! Everyone wins - even my husband.

The back of the fork method works great. Just one word of caution. The first time I did it, I did it too close to the steam of the water and the dough got soft and sticky and it became messy. However, they tasted just as good! Just didn't look as neat as they could have. Mmm. I need to do this again.

I love that restaurant Rice. This looks delish. I was going to cook some sockeye salmon tonight and maybe I'll make this the side dish. Mmm. Thanks for posting this!
