My intial reaction is that global warming and its subsequent results should not only be a political issue, but a social issue as well.

Being careless and wasteful of our enviroment, because of our insatiable need for masses of consumer goods, should become as socially unacceptable as cigarette smoking and drunk driving have become in my lifetime. IMHO

Using the self-cleaning element on your oven can increase its wear dramatically. This is what I've been told by several appliance techs.
I own a six-burner Kitchen Aid. (I cook for 15 people.) I would hate to shorten my oven's life-span by heating it up at the temperatures needed to self-clean.

Try to make an art piece.
Wallpaper seems to be in.
First, try creating a small Yoda repeat design on your computer . You can play onplacement, repeat, and a scale that would contrast the size of the collectibles.
You can then have your design copied on a printer for large scale copies.
The wallpaper then can be hung on a large homosote board. You have a backround for the collectibles that can either be pinned or velcroed to the board.
If your guy really wants to protect the piece, a step further can be taken by having this toy board enclosed in a custom-made plexglass frame.

Cheers!

As a native Southern Californian, I have never had the pleasure of being an beachgoer on the eastern US coast.

But I did pick up the best free beach seating tip while living in Brasil. No equipment necessary! Enviromentally friendly!

Arrive at the beach wrapped in your pareo. Dig an indentation in the sand with your bare heel large enough for you to have a slight back rest. Then nonchalantly lay your pareo down as ground cover. The less you lug, the cooler you look.
