Just word to those considering an Eames knock off:

Mine just broke after just under two years of daily use. The hydraulics at the bottom broke and I need to get it replaced. Only paid $200 for it, but now it's at a cost of $100/year. Not sure I'll pay the $1700 for the original version, but I'm thinking more towards quality next time.

I got an AVIC 700 BT about 2 years ago and was an iPhone 3G user and now a iPhone 4 user, and MAN do I love having both units (phone + console unit)

I keep a older 30GB iPod in my glove box with all of my itunes music and keep the iphone plugged in front for the occasional podcast or audio book. So convenient.

I just bought a Schlage deadbolt with keypad. It's nice to be able to make the code the date for that day, then give to your repair people for access when you're not home, and then change it back once you're back. Worth the $100 easy!

So weird - I've had nothing but 100% good experiences. Haven't called much, usually do everything online and they're ALWAYS on time, and have good follow through with tracking info, etc.

@Erik, yeah, I hear you but you don't see the point because you're not hulu's target.

For those of aren't willing to pay a at least $45/month to get 4 or 5 channels we want + 495 we don't want, and who already have a computer hooked up to the TV, the 9.99 Hulu plan is quite inticing.

Plus, satellite/cable providers need a little competition. ;)

If it supported 1080p, than awesome, I'd buy, but if it's only 720p? You can easily buy a 22" 720p for not much more than $150.

Number 0: Hire a professional inspector. He will check EVERYTHING for you. Mine found a fault in the foundation, and the seller agree to pay it. $350 saved me about $28k.

As a Drobo owner and DroboPro user at work, these things are AWESOME for expandability, and reliability. However, these are not the fastest drives in the world.

Do buy, but just know, you're paying for the hdd mix and match ability, and the ease of use. If they could compete with a Raid0 or Raid5 speedwise, they'd probably be in the $5,000 range.

25 MegaBYTE read and write is normal, in my experience (via FW800 or iSCSI)
