The pay pal scam and how they behave are all the reasons I hate pay pal and eBay. I won't use them to buy or sell. Things like this can happen all to often. I would recommend selling else where whenever possible. I'm not sure if other sites like amazon ect are loads better but I'm really not sure they can be any worse than eBay in combination with Pay Pal!

This made me laugh, then made me laugh more that it had so many comments! It's so banal but at the same time something you use several times a day so if it's not right you notice.

@ Annamarie- I think this has sparked such an interesting debate, you shouldn't feel bad about sharing your personal situation. It's not really fair for people to judge you when they don't know the full story. Regardless of what they think or how they do things, I think people should appreciate your honesty in admitting sometimes we don't know or haven't found the perfect solution yet. Because life isn't perfect! Thanks xx

I am doing a masters degree full time and work part time mainly on the weekend. My partner works full time (40hrs) mainly 9-5 Monday to Friday. He earns more then me, we are in our 20s. He does a big clean of the house on a Saturday while I'm at work. That mostly sees us through the week. I tidy up probably more often during the week as I'm often doing uni work at home so I have time. We alternate cooking whoever doesn't cook washes up. We bot do the washing as and when it needs doing.

Although we have separate accounts our money is our money. There has never been a sense of I earn more so I do less. When he did his masters I did more housework, we base it on who has more time. I have always felt that people who say "I don't notice it so I'm not doing it" is a bit of a lazy cop out, as things like the toilet simply do need to be cleaned regularly! I do think couples have got to do what works for them but I do find it hard to understand how that could be anything but feeling that things are in someway fair.

Wow I think they look really cool! I like the idea of doing something a bit different and special with a sandwich. I'm a vegetarian too I'd really like to have a go at a veggie version just for fun. It is perhaps a bit 70's but not in the nasty processed 70's way. I think this would be really fun for a party.

How about putting a row of plain white or grey tiles behind the sink and cooker? In addition to some of the paint on suggestions.

I already have a chalk board in my kitchen now I need to find something in my studio to use up the rest of the tin, very inspiring.

I find if I use a damp cloth to clean the chalk off it minimises chalk dust.

What? I live in London I'm from the UK. I've rented for a few years and have rarely heard of a flat coming with cuttlery or plates if it is rented out furnished. Unless it is on a kind of per room basis for students. Also although I feel there are more furnished flats than non furnished it is by no means unheard of to rent an unfinished flat. Probably around 60% if flats are offered furnished. Also the majority of flats that are furnished have basic furniture and are not really "fully" furnished.

I used to live about 15 min away from IKEA so it was my main home store for bits and bobs as it's so cheap for T lights, lamps ect. Now I don't have a car and live about 45 min drive from one. I still go a few times a year (with a list). Once I'm there I buy some stuff that catches my eye if it's good value. I feel that I can justify this as I go rarely.

I would look to secondhand shops for furniture first but in an upstairs flat sometimes we need flat pack.

I generally enjoy guests however it is mainly my family who visit us as we moved to London from the North of England in October. I always clean and do extra food shopping ect but I don't really mind the time it takes. I think my partner minds the guests more than me. I enjoy the not doing much relaxed time together.

It does annoy me though when people stay over and leave there stuff all over my home not. Like not hanging coats up, putting luggage away ect. But I think thats me just being house proud and a little uptight!

I was surprised this was even a question! I'm from the UK and almost everyone has an electric kettle which is kept out on the counter top, and is use a lot through out the day. Must be all the tea we drink!

I really love this house tour. The space and furniture are lovely. RE: the carpet, It is nice to see a house tour featured where people are working with what they have and still manage to make a lovely home. This is more reflective of how people live especially renters on a budget.
