i really like plaid, but not just any plaid, and not just anywhere. not all plaid is good plaid.
i dont know about plaid in general being a must-have, but i personally think i MUST HAVE the new plaid chuck taylors by woolrich.

i WISH i lived in a city where having a car would be optional. if i did, i wouldnt have a car.

I used these when I went to bangkok for 5 weeks last fall, they worked great for me. I was able to bring all my clothing in one suitcase. The bags I had didnt require a vacuum- you just rolled the air out. Of course, I had to buy an iron and iron all of my clothes, because they were so wrinkly.

yes, the steps and the sidewalk are a project for next summer. perhaps more flowers next summer as well..
i am on the lookout for new house numbers, but who knows how long that will take..

while the beige siding is not what i would have picked, i have no desire to paint my entire house. i am very nearly sick of painting. ive painted almost every wall in my house already, and i need a break.

and yes, curtain liners will come this winter. right now, i like having as much light come in as possible.

and no, i would never paint a rock.

thanks for your suggestion. i do love flowers.
however, i live in minneapolis, where it's winter half of the year.. so the flowers would be dead for most of the year. and the bush we have in front is a burning bush, so it does give lots of color in late summer/fall.

I add a few drops of eucalyptus oil to my vinegar/water mix & it does the job beautifully.
