I do this, but it's so the dish towel can dry out - not for decoration.

I live in a multi-level loft with mostly hardwood floors (only the bedroom area is carpeted). I purchased a Miele Antares after reading a similar thread - http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?order_num=-1&SKU=13909903

I am very happy with it. It does a great job on my floors (which are vintage and have a lot of gaps between them where crud collects) and it's lightweight enough so that carrying it upstairs is easy and quick.

Yes, it was expensive, but I usually believe that you get what you pay for.

"Wine shelter"? I think you mean a "wine cellar".

Does anyone have any suggestions for what to do when an owner/neighbor just refuses to follow your condo bylaws?

I live in a 9-unit building and I suspect that the woman who lives next door to me has some serious issues. We hear her yelling/ranting/screaming at all hours, but not necessarily for long enough periods to call the police.

My bedroom shares a wall with hers and she frequently wakes me up around 2-3 AM with her shouting. I have not approached her directly because, quite frankly, I am afraid of her. I definitely think that some degree of substance abuse is involved. I mean, we have heard her yelling at her CAT.

The condo association has sent certified letters to her about this and imposed fines, but it doesn't seem to impact her behavior, so nothing is really accomplished.

Any advice on how to handle this?

That's my bathroom in the photo. I designed it myself and hired a good contractor (I highly recommend Ira at Elite Home Builders 312-617-6806) who guided me well.

Like metromom and sniplet say, if you feel you can make the design decisions yourself, then go for it. If not, hire someone who can.

Like a lot of renovations, I think much of it comes down to how much you want to spend.

What are you missing? How about a little sympathy for all those victims in China?

The first part of your post reminds me of that rapper who sent out a press release telling his fans he was OK after the subway bombing in London...without acknowledging all the people that weren't "OK".

It's valid information, but it sounds just a bit self-serving.

That B&B chair looks like the perfect place to sip a nice cold San Pelligrino.

Mr. Green,
No regrets about my comment to you in the other thread.
I *was* right about you.
