We did a variation of this for my son's first birthday 2 years ago and often do the same for gifts from people that live out of town. We took photos of him opening/wearing/playing with each gift, printed them on 4 x 6 photo paper, and sent them through the mail as postcards. Just write a quick note on the back, add the address and stamp, and you're done. Our family and friends really seem to appreciate seeing their gift "in action." Apartment Therapy Ohdeedoh | Look! I have to comment about the West Elm Circle-cutout daybed. We have one in my daughter's room as a place for late night feedings or the occasional guest and have been very disappointed by the extremely poor quality of the piece. It is solid wood, but the coating chips off with almost any contact, leaving the light colored wood showing through. Combined with the mattress, the daybed is probably the most expensive item in the baby's room, and the one thing I regret buying. Apartment Therapy ohdeedoh | Eight Daybeds Under $500 |
