I second the flor tiles. They work great with my two cats, and when there is a hairball (because they HAVE to do it on the carpet) I can just hose it off.

I have a pair of suede welding gloves, can't remember how much I paid for them, but I've had them forever. They're perfect potholders, and awesome for dealing with grilling. Yeah, they were probably expensive, but they are the right tool for the job. Currently they go for about $10.

Well, I start off by actually sitting my laptop on my lap. There is no reason why I shouldn't be using that heat. I also have wrist warmers that let me type efficiently. Lastly, I have a cat that likes to sleep around my neck. This probably isn't the most comfortable position (he's 25lbs), it is certainly warm.

I won't ride a bike. I live in Pittsburgh, and I just can't make it up my hill. It takes me 90 minutes to get home, and after 3 hours commuting (by bus), I just can't imagine riding a bike and taking any longer.

I also have a roll of cat puke only paper towels.

Check out American Science and Surplus ( they tend to have corks and rubber stoppers that you can buy one at a time.

They also have tons of other cool stuff.

I am pretty sure that I am a supertaster. Friends like to test my ability to taste things in foods.

Foods that are really bitter, I can't handle. I do drink coffee (and I prefer ones that are chocolately), but for me it was a learned taste. I always liked the smell, but 'taught' myself to drink it.

I can't handle things like olives and squashes. I love veggies, but find that they have to be cooked carefully. I favor sour and salty foods.

I also can't drink Coke products because they taste like cinnamon to me.

I already had a lot of kitchen stuff when I got married. There were a few things that I got that I haven't used/used in a year:
The wok
The fondue pot (seriously...I didn't register for this)

what I wish I got:
Good wine glasses, at least 6
My great-grandmothers silver (I got this later)
linens for the table

Or tell your closer friends something unique: I like brightly colored dish ware. When I pull some of it out, I think 'heather bought us this' and I have fond memories of her.

My best friend would love that. It would go perfect with her new do (she has short hair and her neck is getting cold).

I would be a great person to test this printer. Why? Mostly because I have to do alot of printing, use both mac and PCs, and not having the best of luck with the wireless printing via the Aiport and still being able to keep good wireless protection.

I print pictures from digital cameras (usually of my animals, dog, cats, guinea pig) but I also print from super high quality cameras that take pictures from microscopes (I am working on my dissertation right now). I have issues with most printers because what I see on the screen never gets reflected on my proofs because of saturation of ink.

I am a mac girl at heart, but am also the tech support person for my lab that is exclusively windows (except for my powerbook).

I would be willing to test this printer at both my lab and home to give benchmarks. Home is an older building, which means everything would have to be wireless because there is no running of cat5's through the walls. Work is a lab in a university setting, with 4 or so users that would be willing to test the printer.

Seriously: Me=poor grad student writing her dissertation, and I can't print anything at home, and the printer at work is substandard. ISO cool printer to print my work out so that I don't have to try to work on a laptop during my commute.

I got mine on monday. I can't remember what you were supposed to do to get more (I think it was answer a question for someone on Yahoo! answers). But I got too. I was really amazed that there was a minimal package and that the bulbs weren't broken.

These came at the perfect time, as the last two 'normal' light bulbs just burnt out.

Maybe a small marble topped plant stand.

The marble works well because it sorta keeps the components cool.

My mom does this, but she makes sure to get the bags with labels, because no matter how hard you wash them, smelly stuff stays.

I have had my onion bag for about 6 weeks.

Plastic Bag Dryers: Not just for hippies

I don't mind hanging out things to dry, my only problem is that the dryer seems to get rid of the pet hair that is always attatched to my clothes (I have 4 hairy pets). I don't want to always be using tape, and the 'brushes' never seem to work.

Any suggestions?

Well, we have cats, so no matter how much I clean the litterbox, that room needs to have something in it. I don't have any free outlets in that room, and can't use candles (one of the cats decided it was a good idea to walk over one once...), so we use the method diffuser thing in the clean scent.

Although, when fall rolls around, I can't help but getting the fall scented candles from yankee candle company. I really like the autumn leaves and the peppermint hot chocolate. It really makes everything smell cozy.

I think that I have those same tiles in my bathroom, which is painted lavender. It looks great, because bathrooms are too often painted neutrals.

The tiles I have, have sort of an overlapping tan and purple-ish dotty pattern on them.
