This post came just in time. I just told my husband that I was getting rid of all our Pfatzgraff plates that are completely gray with scratches!

Not to jump on the band wagon, but I totally agree with the above crayon comments. The crayons in the jars are so pretty, but so impractical for small children.....fun idea though!

We have the Storytime Rocker by Nurseryworks (the second picture you show). It has been wonderful. It's great for late night rocking and you can sit your child next to you when you read books to a toddler. It was in my older daughter's room for 3 years and is now in my 2 1/2 year old's room. 5 1/2 years of daily use and it still looks great. Eventually when we convert the nursery to a big girl room, we'll move the chair to the playroom.

I really, really wanted a CPK in 1983, but they were in such demand it was impossible to find and my parents didn't like how expensive they were. In the winter months (after Christmas, I think), my parents let me know I could earn money carrying in firewood in from outside ($.50 per trip) to pay for the then $30 price tag. I took them up on the offer and raised the money, but they were still sold out everywhere. My mom called everywhere when finally, my friends mom who worked at Kmart was able to set one aside when a shipment came in. Arty Benedict, a bald headed baby CPK was my playmate for years to come.

As an avid Ohdeedoh reader and Columbus resident, it's great to see the Wexner store featured. It is indeed a great store with many great gifts!

I splurged on a Nurseryworks Storytime rocker. (http://www.allmodernbaby.com/Nurseryworks-Storytime-Rocker-nwk1090.html) It's comfortable for rocking and breastfeeding and your child can sit beside you and read as they grow. My 4 year old still sits in it and when her sister is done with it, we'll probably move it to the playroom.

I was going to say Dwellstudio (or their Target line) too. Expensive, but pretty good quality. I used the same crib sheets for both daughters and they've held up well.

herzsprung: Most public schools do offer school lunches, but many of them are not overly healthy or appetizing, leaving many parents scrambling to pack an alternative.

Our kids (3.5 and 6 mos) are only grandchildren on both sides of the family. Needless to say, the grandparents go crazy. To try to combat the overflow of toys, we keep it simple: a few gifts they either want or need. I never really thought about it, but it does sort of break down into the Need/Read/Want/Wear categories.
