I would love to see some of this stuff in an online marketplace. Does MAKEatx showcase their artists' works on Etsy or something of that nature? Play with Lasers: MAKEatx Design Studio Tour |

The first gift I ever bought my husband was a SodaStream, and it's still going. A little hack, instead of soda: add 1 part fruit juice to 3 parts soda water. Orange juice and soda water = poor man's mimosa. Lovely. Product Review: SodaStream Seltzer Water Maker |

Love this house. It's very striking in-person. The entire neighborhood is gorgeous, which helps. It's not conventional, but still beautiful in its own Gothic way. I live in a Queen Anne revival, and we went with black trim on white (Tudor-esque). It's bland and boring, and thus non-offensive. I strive for this kind of courage. These are all very good tips! If driving a car a long distance, spend the money to have a full inspection before the trip. The emotional consequences of a car break-down during a move are not worth it. 5 Tips for Moving Long Distances |

cde8--the Genius Bar replaces the plastic covering around the keyboard. There is a little strip on the right hand corner near the trackpad of my MacBook that seems to go every 6 months or so. It broke my heart the first time it happened, but after taking it in for another problem, a Genius told me that sort of chipping was a known issue. For cleaning, I use a solution called IKlear (how appropriate). Apartment Therapy Unplugged | 6 DIY Laptop Repairs for Common Mishaps |

I'm marrying into a fixer-upper...husband-to-be found the house and rented it out. Now we are moving back to his hometown with renovation of this beast as an excuse. All of the home renovation shows prepare you for the budgeting woes, but they only include small quips about the stress of the project on the relationship of the couple involved. I'm sending this article for the HTB right away. Apartment Therapy New York | Are you the Fixer-Upper type? |

The cracked topcase on a Macbook (shown with tape over it in the bottom picture) is a known design flaw (the plastic used is actually the wrong thickness). If you take into the Genius Bar, they'll fix it. Apartment Therapy Unplugged | 6 DIY Laptop Repairs for Common Mishaps |

I've been in a similar situation. Assuming that your landlord won't budge (as others have said: check your rights, use all of the angles!), in my case we put together a living schedule (via e-mail). A schedule where one person was able to have run of the house basically (aka live alone), and the other either stayed out or stayed in their respective bedroom. The schedule could run for a week or a few days, whatever is comfortable. On my banished days, I lived like a ghost in the apartment. I worked many late nights at the office. Found excuses to stay out late with friends or exploring a new bar. My social life thrived, and my work was always complete and on time. If I was staying in my room I read books, joined Netflix, had take-out picnics. During the times I had the run of the apartment, I could have guests over without worry. I also made a rule with myself: Accept the situation. Don't talk about it with your friend incessantly, or ruminate on how unfair it all is. Get through those months, then move on. The last month of a tenancy is looking for another place anyway. Apartment Therapy Chicago | Advice for Unpleasant, Unlivable Roommate Situation? Good Questions |

My parents are in London visiting this week, and we found a nice (cheap) flat for them to rent. It's off the beaten path in North London but close to a Tube stop off of the Piccadilly line and just down the street from an Overground station (highly recommend traveling this way). The one bedroom was spacious and had a full kitchen, washer, and free WiFi. The flats seem to be a developer's folly in the credit crunch that they are renting out until people are ready to buy again. Hope this helps. http://www.activehotels.com/wl/servlet/xmlbrochure/index.do?hotelid=46028&language=en Apartment Therapy Los Angeles | Hotel St. Cecilia Austin |

My luxury is something I never knew I was missing: our roof terrace is the size of our small studio flat. In London, space is such a premium, so this flat space does just the trick. It doubles as a garden, a private park (for picnics), a private beach (for sunbathing), a reserved seat for fireworks, and an outdoor office (w/wifi). The Cuisinart PerfecTemp has the right idea, but it's a stovetop kettle. This kettle is standalone and has digital calibration: http://www.amazon.com/PINO-OT-8704-Digital-Express-Kettle/dp/B001L1GRFO/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1240062333&sr=1-3 Apartment Therapy The Kitchn | Product Review: Breville Variable Temperature Kettle |
