I had a piece professionally framed to go on one of my angled walls. It came back with a little eyelet on either side of the frame ready for you to screw through into the wall. No idea what they'd be called to look out for in the hardware store, but I'm sure a framer could tell you.

I use old wine racks - one shoe can easily fit in the space for a bottle, but then I have small feet.

Where's the option for doing them more than once a year?! My top floor apartment means I'm at the bottom of the heating food chain, they'll need doing at least three times through the winter.

Same as Rapunzel I bizarrely have a double oven in a teeny tiny flat. I couldn't get by without using the bottom one for storage - it holds all my baking sheets, casserole dishes, even cookie cutters and aluminium foil... I've no idea where I'd store these items otherwise.

How about using a mirror? They can be great outside, particularly in a small space, here a mirror could make the whole space lighter and cover up one of the blocked up windows.

Make sure anything the workers leave when they aren't there (materials, tools etc.) looks as though it's secure. I have three windows in my apartment, two of them were broken when our building's roof was being repaired by materials slipping off the scaff planks. Including my bedroom window, while I was in bed, during a snow storm. Not fun.
