@lemonadefish - My boyfriend used to be a [boat] mechanic and said that cursing is essential to doing any type of work (plumbing or mechanical). It seems to help loosen bolts, etc. much faster and easier ;) How To Replace a Kitchen Faucet Home Hacks | Apartment Therapy The Kitchn |

I've lived pretty much on the "living more on less" philosophy for a while, especially going it on my own for a while now. I always try to reuse things I already have at the house, or by reorganizing (and donating or throwing away stuff) really helps out on space and pocketbook. AT on... I've used left over white poster board to line my shelves. It's really thick and sturdy, especially helpful for my cabinets where I keep my spices and sauces to prevent stains, pots and pans to prevents scuffs on the cabinet, and under the sink for household cleaner/supplies. I have a habit of collecting glass jars after use. It mainly started when my county's waste management would not recycle glass (but now they do!). Apartment Therapy Re-Nest | 10 Simple Uses for Spaghetti Jars Most Popular Posts |

@special...my boyfriend's mother cans datil pepper sauce, pepper jelly, and others fruits/veggies a lot. She advised me a few times that if the jars aren't sealed (if the lid "pops"), you would have to keep it in the fridge and use it asap (within a week) after canning. I remember when my mother was short on time for dinner, she would make a quick meal out of canned tuna served with steammed rice & frozen veggies for me and my siblings. In a medium skillet, heat up oil (veg or what she used was oil from the canned tuna) and sautée minced garlic. Add drained tuna and cook up for about 5-8 minutes. Add salt and pepper to taste (I like it kinda salty). This was great especially when I was on my own in college and now. Apartment Therapy The Kitchn | Cheap Eats: 10 Ways to Use a Can of Tuna |

I agree with azure. I prefer to have my bed be aired out and not too close to the floor (or directly on the floor that is). I would hate to constantly vacuuming in order to keep the dust bunnies and dust mites away. Apartment Therapy DC | Back to Basics: Beds on the Floor |
