I can't be sure but it looks very similar to the M.I.S.S. sofa by Cassina. http://www.cassina.com/ENG/CATALOGUE/ARMCHAIRS_AND_SOFAS/PRODUCTS/MISS_MUSIC_IMAGE_SOFA_SYSTEM_215228.ASPX Cassina means top-notch quality and their furniture is quite well-known (and pretty expensive). M.I.S.S. actually stands for Music Image Sofa System -- since it's available with a surround-sound speaker system built into the sofa. They also have a projector that you can have rise out of a console behind the sofa. It's pretty amazing. I've been a fan of the sofa for a few years but haven't had the cash to spend on it. I agree with all of the comments regarding the excessive nature of a new germophobic America. It's killing our immune systems just so they can sell more products that kill THAT MUCH MORE bacteria in EXCITING NEW ways... Disposable, one-use toothbrushes that come with toothpaste on them already? Disinfectant wipes of every kind and Purell dispensers everywhere? SWINE FLU SWINE FLU! GERMS GERMS! It's all a hyped up distraction by the mass media (a.k.a. The Government, a.k.a. Corporate America). BTW: We should be moving away from using bleach for ANYTHING unless it's absolutely necessary. It's not good for us and bleach and detergents (with SLS's in particular) are REALLY bad for the environment. Children should not be raised in a germ-free house... and I think this article was very out of character for Apartment Therapy.
