Just a note...Miss Suzy was not originally published in 2004, but in 1964. It is one of my all time favorite childhood books and I remember my mother reading it to me. I was born in 65. My children bought it for me for Christmas a few years back. Great list! My Favorite Children's Books Maxwell's Finds |

I reuse any plastic straws I get in drinks at home. I have a piece of wooden dowel just slightly smaller than the straw that I use to clean them with. Works like a charm. Bar Item: Metal Bendy Straws | Apartment Therapy The Kitchn |

I love the retro look, but what I really want IS a manual pilot so that if the power goes out I can still have my stove. Anyone know of some modern stoves that still have this feature? They all seem to be electronic ignitions. Retro Stove Love | Apartment Therapy Los Angeles |

We have a local dairy here in the Kansas City Metro area that puts their milk in returnable glass bottles. Shatto Dairy in Osborn, MO. They have a lovely farm with a little store and give tours and have family days. We have been to their farm twice which and my children have insisted on their milk since. I once hear Alice Waters speak and she said that she liked farmer's markets because she could picture the face of the grower. I feel the same about this milk. lovelainie paper works. I've done it for a few years. I used to lay down newspaper but now that I only read news online I started using the paper in my paper shredder. I stopped shredding anything but compostible paper and I spread it over my flower beds. I shredded cardboard or brown paper (like your paper bags) and place it on top. The effect is actually a lot like hardwood mulch but it's free and recycling. Apartment Therapy Re-Nest | Too Much Mulch? |

My daughter REALLY didn't want to use this (she was 9) but during a particular bad bout of bronchitis she gave in. She was surprised that it was "no big deal" and used it on her own throught her illness. It really brought her relief. I use it when I'm having trouble and it really helps. I got through a sinus infection without being stopped up at night while using this. And got over it quick. Apartment Therapy ohdeedoh | Nasopure Little SquirtSlinks: n. It had been so long since I used my bread machine that I moved the giant thing off my counter. I much prefer the no knead bread so I just do that now. Also we don't eat that much bread. We eat mostly fruits and vegetables these days. Apartment Therapy The Kitchn | Do You Own a Bread Machine? |

I use a microfiber cloth and nothing else. Maybe a little water if needed and then follow up with a dry cloth. My windows have never been shinier. Apartment Therapy Re-Nest | How to: Wash Your Windows Like a ProMay is Spring Cleaning Month |

I live in the suburban sprawl of a metro area and I got tired of phone books on my porch every few months so I called the company and insisted they send out the person who delivered it to pick it up. That person I talked with got snooty so I asked for her manager. Long story short...the guy came and picked it up a few mornings later and I haven't received another.
