a large wall mirror would break up the blue and not make it look so matched as would a larger (and more ornate perhaps) chandelier. I think it would be a shame to recover your chairs as I think the blue looks great. The room just needs to be accessorized. Good Questions: How Can I Tone Down this Room? |

PS: The Rosewood bamboo chair on the site I posted above would also be great! Good Questions: Got Chairs For Me? |

Go Asian! It would complement the nice lines of Mid-C but give it some pop & variety. I'm thinking of chairs with a nice red or black lacquer finish. Couldn't find anything in red lacquer but here's something in black (bottom of page, the black lacquer monk chair) not too expensive: http://www.chinafurnitureonline.com/thumbnail.asp?cid=62&deep=1&searchWord=&offset=1 Good Questions: Got Chairs For Me? |

I second sunspot42's white ikea pedestal table and also the tulip table (the real thing, not the ikea knockoff which in this case is rather unattractive). Good Questions: What Type of Dining Room Table Would Go with These Chairs? |

art, the water in chicago while supposedly safe is famously awful tasting. I lived there for 7 years as a graduate student and even though I was poor as heck I could not acquire a taste for the water. My friends & I spent long nights discussing this. We tried various filters & even had the water analyzed (it is safe to drink) but every single one of us ended up spending the little money we had on buying good tasting water. Coffee, tea, rice, stew, anything made with water had to be made with bottled water to taste decent. Some of my friends even bathed & washed their hair in spring water because of the chemical smell & taste of chicago water. Most of us were in hyde park but we had friends who lived in various parts of the city & they too had horrid tasting water. I'm afraid if you live in chicago, you'll just have to buy bottled water. On the plus side, it's a wonderful city if a tad cold in the winter ;) AT On: Bottled Water |

I'm for no rug. The floor is beautiful & a sealed floor can easily take all the daily scuffing & chair movement (mine does!). Instead use the money to buy a fab art piece for your wall! Good Questions: Rug Color Suggestions for Our Dining Room? |
