Don't forget if you want really plump amazing raisins in oatmeal cookies to soak them in water/grape juice for a bit before adding them, they partially rehydrate and really make a fantastic cookie.

I hate the loud neighbors above, below and to the sides just as much as everyone else, the other day though there was an xkcd comic that I want to slip under my "above us" neighbors door http://xkcd.com/316/ pdxcarrie much sympathy.

In the past I tried using both craigslist and roomates.com, and I'd reccomend anyone searching for a roomate avoid the latter. Most of the responses you receive are from someone requesting you send them your contact information and info about the room since you have to pay to see their description as the listor and as the person looking for a room. Nothing was more annoying than having already paid for the month of service or whatnot post and then have people who just applied randomly even if they didn't meet your qualifications that they could see (male applying for a female only, or someone who just wanted something for 2 months when it was in the year long lease area) and getting requests for you to call/email them because they didn't want to pay to see what was being offered fully.

When we had problems with ants Baking Soda always kept them away, as did dryer sheets... dryer sheets may not be so green but were an easy thing to place in odd corners without having powder or sprays everywhere and didn't cause problems with pets.

I don't listen to state-side internet radio often (not a huge music fan), yes I'd be sad if Pandora were to close but at least the BBC has a variety of stations (love bbc4 bbc7 and occasionally bbc2).

Their listen again options make it superior (for me) as I don't have to wait through songs or programs I don't like, I can immediately scan to see if something iterests me and it's free :)

If the BBC were to lock down their digital radio to UK only IP addresses though, like they're going to do with the 7-day replay video player, I would be heartbroken as I really do listen all day while working.
