Those percentages seem low. Here in Cincinnati, there seems to be a typical 10% to 20% increase with each floor. I live on the 4th floor with a few of the city, stadium, river and wooded hillsides in the distance. As well a freeway interchange which turns out to be my favorite thing (even though it seems to be reviled by most). The unit above was offered at 20% more than mine.

I honestly would give up the views if I could have an enclosed garden space in the city. But otherwise my place rocks considering I pay less on mortgage than I did on rent.

I do not recommend motion lights for a bathroom unless the time they stay on can be controlled. Horrible to be left in the dark every few minutes when busy in the bathroom. It feels stupid to wave your hands in the dark in an attempt to get the motion control to sense your presence.

My entertainment solution rocks and really rolls! Did not cost me any money either. I picked up the fabric cart from the garbage and the glass top was a discard from a glass cutting place due to a large chip in the back.

Set up my Samsung 52", PS3, XBox, Wii, Apple TV on an old fabric rack with a piece of glass on top. Now I only unplug from one outlet and roll it from room to room. I also keep all my games and DVDs in large disc binders for easier access.

I canceled my cable to subscribe to a new high speed fiber service. Unfortunately during building construction the fiber was severed somewhere in the building to my condo. The developer has been in negotiations with the phone company for months to determine who pays for the fiber replacement.

Now I doubt I will re-subscribe to anything. I have found that life has been much better without cable TV or broadband. I use my iPhone for casual surfing and email. RedBox for the few movies I watch a month. And the extra $100 goes to dinners out with friends and to my savings account.

Save your money. I find bowls of water work just fine. When the air is dry, it will absorb water naturally. Set it near an air duct and you will be refilling them fairly quickly.

I resolved the sock problem years ago. Only two kinds of athletic socks, short and long. All the same brand. And only one brand of the same black dress socks. I NEVER sort socks!

I bought these at my local green store. But a word of warning. After using them for a party I found that they do not contain liquid very well. The edges have a removable plastic edge that allows water to seep underneath to the bottom of the coasters.

They are fine for light use. I would not recommend them for parties.

You have to use a disc for Netflix on PS3? I use my XBox 360 with my Netflix subscription and it does not require me to load a disc.

I am a gadget freak. Just got a Samsung 52" LCD. I love the XBox 360 with Netflix. I also enjoy online video rental and watching podcasts on a hacked AppleTV with Boxee. I also have a PS3, Wii, a Bose Surround system that I plan on switching to a Yamaha sound bar to simplify connections. During parties I plug in my iPhone to a speakers and a projector to display music videos on the wall above my living area.

I have installed dimmer remotes for my bedroom and TV den. As well as touch dimmers in the living spaces I want more speedy specific control.

I would really like to see several several products on the market. One would be a reasonable priced electricity monitor at the junction box that gives clean simple stats on use. As well as remote control programmable outlets.

I would also love to see grocery stores start offering usb key fobs for tracking purchases that I could plug into a fridge display to track groceries. Alerts for recalls as well as expirations easily tracked. Discounts on products that I need. Nutrients/diet tracking. Simple recipes. Hello iPhone Developers...

It would be nice to see more products take advantage of solar. A solar panel that can be installed temporarily in a window for apartment/condo dwellers. I love my solar backpack for charging up my phone.

I have a glass garage door in my condo living room that opens out to my balcony. Had a difficult time deciding how to furnish the space. Decided on a Starck Bubble Club sofa with Sunbrella cushions. Jerszy Seymour Easy chairs and a Massimo Vignelli Big Bench. As well as a cafe table that extends to a bar height when having parties. The living room space is small. So I wanted flexibility to move furniture out on the balcony if needed without weather worries.

I use my laptop in the kitchen. I do worry about spills. But it has become an important tool in learning how to cook properly. I recently made my first cheese lasagna that turned out exactly as expressed on a favorite podcast.

I am thinking about mounting an iMac on the wall in the kitchen and using a wireless keyboard with protective cover.

I think the furniture looks fine. Not so much you can do to modernize the pieces other than freshen them with paint. I think a bigger impact would be to sand and paint the walls and trim beige. Remove the window valences. Get a new modern comforter with four new pillows (something you will enjoy more anyway). Remove the dresser mirror and hang a large framed mirror. Maybe resetting the stage will help by moving the pieces in new locations. I know that always helps me refine a room.

This is the perfect bar! Breaks out of the old standards of a bar. Why do we need to get up from our seat to get a drink? Just grab just the box of items you need. Or just wheel it out to the room or patio directly to the party. Much easier than everyone having to go to and fro to get their drinks from another room. Or going in and out the door to outside. It looks like there is a big ice bucket as well. Truly out of the box thinking in a perfect box!

I will be moving to a new condo where storage will be limited. So I love the simple design of this for use in my living space. Unfortunately the design would interfere with the exposed cables on the underside of the frame on my Cannondale Bad Boy.
