I have tried painting the inside of glass jars with acrylic paint and it didn't work. To get no streaks you have to use a lot of paint and swirl it around and let the paint slowly coat the entire inside but I found it NEVER dried. bepsf-that's a blanket not an oversized pillow. and up close the words look odd but maybe the words are WAY smaller than they seem and don't look so bad farther away and seen with the rest of the room. use something to chip the white paint off and deal with it. you should ask the landlord what they'll allow. apartments suck bad no matter what. at least in my experience. I would paint the walls white. Unless that's too much white for you but it would look clean. And you could use blue towels to match the tile. I would put the tv in one of the corners closer to the windows so the tv is facing less windows. There will be less of a glare. Then as others have suggested section the room off the with the long couch. I have layout problems too so I'm notm uch help but that is one thing I can see might help a bit.
