Depending on where you live, there may be a pottery barn outlet near you. If someone places an order (for almost anything) and they return it, it goes to the outlet. It's a great source for lighting, furniture, rugs....and especially if you want to see what an item looks like in real life (styles, colors, etc.) There are a handful....helps if you do a google search and go from there...not able to find a listing on their website.

I make risotto on an almost weekly basis (in fact, I did last night)....and I do not warm the broth/stock. I always have a carton on stock in my fridge and there's usually 1/2 cup or so in there....and the remainder is from a new carton from my pantry, so it's at room temperature. I've made it before with warm stock and my husband and I haven't noticed a difference between the two ways.

Making the Best Risotto: Do You Really Need to Warm the Broth?

My husband and I bought a house next door to a band. They claimed to have done some soundproofing. There is a good 6-8 feet separating the houses, but we can hear every note, every drum beat played...all through our house. Even in the basement. When we asked them to turn down the amps, we were told by the band member's parents: "You live in a neighborhood now" & "If you didn't want noise, you should have moved out to the country."
Now the police have been called 3x in one week and hope of ever having a relationship with our neighbors is nonexistent.

I love that you're being *thoughtful* about this and you've restored my hope in mankind.

Just out of curiosity, has anyone had to clean *between* the 2 panes of glass in the oven door before? I spilled heavy cream down there during a cooking mishap. Now I have 3 white streaks in my pristine NEW oven. trying to figure out how to do it....

I registered for the caterer's sets at Pottery Barn. Dinnerware in sets of 12...they're plain white, and they're less than 12" in diameter (some of the PB dinnerware is too big for cabinets)
