You can't...they don't have fitted sheets in Sweden. Instead you take your flat sheet and put it on top of the bed and tuck it under the top layer. Then you sleep under a year-round duvet which you 'don't' tuck in. Take it from me...my husband is Swedish and I've spent many a night sleeping on a Swedish bed with a flat sheet under me just tucked under the top layer. It sucks! You move and the flat sheet comes right out from under you and the duvet gets pulled up around your neck. So you wake up, drooling on a bare mattress with cold feet and a really hot neck and head. Again, it sucks! :) Apartment Therapy New York | Duxiana Beds / Dux Beds |

I think it's kind of funny that Apartment Therapy would comment on Kate Edwards' link to their site since that's exactly how I found it, after visiting her father's presidential homepage! Apartment Therapy New York | Cate Edwards Loves AT |

Oops, Omnivore's Dilemma has already been suggested. How about anything by Joel Salatin. He was the 'grass' farmer featured in Omnivore's Dilemma. Apartment Therapy - An AT: Green Home Book Club? |

Also, anything by Bill McKibben and/or Naomi Klein. Hmmm...now I'm going from green to purely political. Apartment Therapy - An AT: Green Home Book Club? |

I suggest 'The Omnivore's Dilemma' by Michael Pollan. Great food read and sort of goes along with Kingsolver and the Plenty book by Smith and Mackinnon. Apartment Therapy - An AT: Green Home Book Club? |

Bought one this afternoon as a gift. Cute, cute and more importantly, environmentally-friendly...well, killing bugs isn't very environmentally-friendly but the way of doing it is I guess. Fly and Wasp Catchers at Smith Hawken |

Wow that's cool! I've never seen that before. I guess I'm an idiot; it took me a moment (or two!) to realize the white part is actually the soap itself. I was thinking, "how do you get the soap out of the white thing?" :) *sigh* Oh well...I only got like five hours of sleep last night. A little slow on the uptake... Good point Anusha73. This is from George Monbiot's book, "Heat," p. xxiv. (He's British.) "What is the point of cycling into town when the rest of the world is thundering by in monster trucks? By refusing to own a car, I have simply given up my road space to someone who drives a hungrier model than I would have bought. Why pay for double-glazing when the supermarkets are heating the pavement with the hot air blowers above their doors? Why bother installing an energy-efficient lightbulb when a man in Lanarkshire boasts of attaching 1.2 million Christmas lights to his house?" NYTimes: Is Green Consumerism Diabolically Stupid? |
