I vote for something bright and graphic, since the rest of the room is neutral. I'm thinking something fun and comfy like the Anthropologie Astrid Chair. Wow, thank you all so much for your suggestions! I am loving the idea of eggplant or some shade of purple/plum! These shades didn't even cross my mind as a possibility but now I can really see how it would work with the other colors. Now eggplant is competing with my original idea for red although I'm leaning toward eggplant. What about a color for the cement stairs? Eggplant or something else?
