If you hate the facade, why did you buy it?

You say you love mid-century style...this IS mid-century style.

Personally, I wouldn't change anything. I think the roofline is way cool. Just update the paint job with some colors that are true to your house's era...what year was it built? 1960s or '70s? Go with avocado greens, harvest golds and rusty oranges. You know the drill.

Love the house you're in.

I definitely meal-plan and do one big grocery store trip once a week. It's just me and my spouse in our house, so I plan for three four-serving meals per week. That seems to give us enough leftovers to make a soup one night and typically we get pizza or takeout another night.

I like the tip about trying one new, fun recipe per week!

And I cannot agree more with the bit about going to a grocery store you love. I used to loathe grocery shopping, but now that I shop at a smaller, cheaper store with less selection (Aldi), it has cut way down on my stress and time spent at the store.

I will have to try the antacid thing. I get the "Asian Flush" as well even though I'm just a white girl. :) And yes, repeated exposure seems to have lessened it. In college I would have the reddest cheeks in the dorm! haha

I've heard Franzia is excellent quality and won't give you a hangover under any circumstance. So drink up! The entire box. I challenge you. :)

I think the pink and green combo is super awesome! I say just roll with it and play to its details. You can find new vintage towels on Etsy. It looks like a very nice bathroom. I like the idea of a standing mirror to the side of your sink. Angled towards you. If you have room.

Awesome! Zesting is one of my least favorite activities in the kitchen, but I looooove zest and there really is not substitution. Thanks!

After so many years of living without a dishwasher, I now dishwash everything I can possibly get away with! I love my dishwasher.

Am I the only one who is slightly disturbed by the scantily-clad 10-year-old?!

Not sure why this is posted on a home design blog.

Also thinking that the support that bra provides would be questionable.

I made this last night using frozen mussels and they turned out delicious! I used light coconut milk and homemade chicken broth and it turned out fantastic. This meal is so good. Definitely company-worthy if you are looking to impress. But also great for a weeknight meal for two! Next time, I would use three pounds instead of two, as the liquid-to-mussel ratio was a little soupy (I used two pounds of mussels). Also, I might cut the brown sugar down to one tablespoon or omit it altogether as it made the liquid a little syrupy and sweet for my tastes. But overall, something I would absolutely make again...and so easy!

I had a bad experience with a parsley-laden dish one time and just can't stand the taste anymore.

I've never cooked with them, but at a restaurant once I had a delicious dish of minced beef tartar with a raw quail egg cracked. Dipped into with a piece of crostini...mmm my mouth is watering right now!

I'm gonna be the token weirdo naysayer and say that I thought it was cute before, if not a little dingy and dirty. But then I always err on keeping original charm. I really liked the scrolly columns in the front. I would have done a little landscaping and painted it a Cape Cod-appropriate color and called it good. But to each their own, it does look nice! Just not my style. :)

I'm surprised that anyone would make such a big deal out of anyone turning down an alcoholic beverage. That sucks. I guess it explains the aggressive tone of the blog post.
