I was raised to expect a lot of gifts and as a result have had trouble letting go of expectations as an adult. From Birthdays to Christmas, it was always a game of "this year you got so much more than last year" or "your gifts last year cost way less than this year..." I hate that my childhood has dictated holiday expectations and work really hard every year to stop the cycle. I think our holidays can be really special if gifts aren't at the center. I love the gorgeous tile and the gold hardware with the white backdrop and stainless appliances. Feels so clean and bright. The grey of the appliances and backsplash with the gold knobs give my fave color combo - grey and yellow. Love it! While I personally love the look of open cabinets and use my dishes often enough that dust wouldn't be much of an issue, having a cat makes me want everything enclosed and behind doors. If we didn't have a cat, I think I would opt for the open look :) Kitchen Shelving Style: Open or Concealed? |

I had such a warm, happy feeling to see a house from my hometown of Pueblo on AT this morning. There are many homes like this that need someone to love and fix 'em up. Oh, the iron. I iron my daily clothes every morning before I head to school. Unfortunately, the iron is something like 35 years old as it was my mother-in-laws before it was ours. It spits and spits, even when I think all the water is out of it and resort to using a spray bottle. And, last week I accidentally burned a favorite item with the setting on low and just can't bring myself to paying such a high price for a new iron. Help! I use the Stonewall Kitchen Lavender Mint linen/room refresher. It is nice and light. I have terrible allergies to febreeze, but have not had any reactions to the Stonewall stuff. I have one of these. It worked great for the first 8 or so months, and since then it has lost its efficiency by A LOT. I have two cats and thought the vacuum would help out with the hair, but it gets clogged after running it in one room and it is more frustrating than helpful. I so wish it did all it promised.
