Beautiful home. I love the eclectic mixture of new and vintage and high and low. It's very inviting. And the back yard is my dream.

I haven't done it myself, but my ethnic studies professor claims it really works. Couldn't hurt to try! I also recommend a good house cleaning before you do it. In Japan, a thorough house cleaning not only cleans up your home but they also believe it discourages bad energy from lurking. So discourage the bad energy from staying with a good cleaning, then smudge to actually make the bad energy go away. Then invite a couple friends over for some wine just for good measure.

Not very inventive, but still a good suggestion. You could paint it whatever color you like, maybe get extra creative and paint stripes using masking tape or some other pattern with a stencil. I like it!

I live 10 minutes away from Ikea and it's conveniently located between work and home, but I only go 4 times a year. Whenever I go I pick up tealight candles and replacement bulbs. I also walk the entire showroom because I can't help myself and end up walking out with frozen meatballs, sometimes bed linens and picture frames in addition to light bulbs and candles.
