beautiful....and now on my list of "must visit' locations.

Does anyone know why most of the exterior doors have curtains?

I think I just moved out of this apartment. I like the way it turned out. I am not a fan of that shelving system on either side of the fireplace, the visible metal irks me. Otherwise, this is a nice redo....the sofa is so much nicer.

Well, hello neighbor. I think your apartment looks clean and airy. Your landlord did a great job with renovating the apartment, very little is original to those brick and brownstone buildings. I love the exposed brick, the floors the kitchen and bath.....but what is with that cheap hardware store light fixtures? Also, recessed lighting in the bedroom just looks odd to me.
I love most of the artwork and your work spaces are very neat. Does that JFK piece really say "You Let Him Die"?

Nice apartment.

I have a daughter named Mary, her twin is Simon. Mary is my mother's name and she was elated when we named our daughter after her.

My older daughter is Safia, which is the spelling we used instead of the transliterated Arabic, which would have been Safiyyah.....as it is, she still gets called Sofia all the time.

I am thinking of heading over to the water park area you can't quite see in the last photo.

This place is just way too cluttered for me. You have only been in this place for a year, how will it look in 10? I have three kids and don't have that many toys laying around.

On the plus side, I do love the vintage tabletop Ms. Pacman and the terrace is a great outdoor space...nearly as big as my apartment. Oh, and I like the VW van turned menorah.

Our nearly 4 year old twins just moved up to twin beds, so we bought them this ikea bed and one for my ten year old, who shares the room with her sister. They use one drawer for linens (quilts, bedsheets and such) and the other one for shoes. It works well for us. Not especially handsome or stylish, but well worth the price. (especially when you have to purchase three of anything)

The size of these drawers could easily accomodate a toddlers wardrobe, and I don't find it a problem to bend and put anything in the drawers....besides, at this age, the kids love getting their own clothes.

I love the idea of a bozo and actually talked with my husband about getting heavy bags (adult and kid sized) to get out aggression and for exercise.
However, though undoubtedly cute, I am bothered by the agression/affection dynamic of this product. Domestically violent relationships usually have this dynamic, the affection part being one of the reasons that the battered person "forgives" the batterer.

This makes me uncomfortable.

Evidently there is a down side to being an attractive man with good taste (and cash). I was about to make a snide comment about being ready to leave my husband for a more midwestern lifestyle....but yeah... this got pretty weird, pretty quickly.

Nice apartment, Arthur.

I have about 20 pieces of vintage dansk, including the exact pan above. I love it all, they are well used. I have a paella pan in red, also 4 red pans, from a small sauce pan to a skillet. I have a large yellow covered skillet, two blue covered pots and an enormous brown covered pot. I love my dansk. I don't treat them all that delicately and I don't have any chips. I used my small sauce pot to make chai, though (just threw some teabags in boiling water, added the spices and milk later) and I had a terrible time cleaning the stains....my fault, though.

Love, Love, Love vintage dansk.

We just got rid of ours, though we were flirting with sanding it and painting it white (or orange in my fantasy). We found (very literally) a very low, long table on hairpin legs, so we opted to get rid of it instead of refurbishing it.

I have a fond place in my heart for This End Up! We used to have a bunk bed, sofa, coffee table, beds and a trunk at our summer house. All have now gone on to other homes. We have kept the trunk, which is now in the basement, holding my children's special outfits and a bunting I can't seem to part with.

good luck!

Twin mom here, too (b/g 3.5y), and I third or fourth the idea of a twin nursing pillow, but I can't stress enough how incredible an extra pair of hands can be. I have no idea how people with 3 or more babies handle them. I felt I had to juggle the two with doing just basic tasks.....thank god for family (and a bouncy chair)

So, my suggestions would just echo everything said above: a twin nursing pillow, diapers, offer to help.....

and if you are looking for a big-ticket item, I loved my mountain buggy stroller with a twin bassinet (they slept in the stroller from about month 2 through 5)....btw, I also had two separate bassinets, which looked lovely, but they ended up using only one (they liked the close-ness they were used to in the womb) for about a month. (definitely not a recommended item)

Oh.. my inspiration for getting a citrus tree started with those trees on Court St. I have been watching them for years and years. I also had a mechanic that serviced my work vehicle that grew a six foot lemon tree under a skylight in the garage loft. His come-on line was always, "Wanna come up and check out my lemons?"

Maybe my husband will buy me a nice meyer lemon tree for mother's day? (big hint)

Yes, as I NYer, I think I have a slightly skewed perspective and feel it is more about nostalgia, rather than a "trend". My brother had several of old ny scrolls in his apartment for a few years now. When my family moved into our new apartment, he gave us the GG Smith-9th street poster....which is a block away. I proudly display it and could care less if it is a trend. (also nostalgic for me, because growing up in this neighborhood, we would rather walk 5 blocks from Carroll St., rather than trek the block from the seedy Smith-9th stop)

Also.. I miss the GG, RR, etc.

I have the DWR havana sofa in brown and I love it. Sometimes our twins take over our bed and my husband or I will go sleep the rest of the night on the sofa (occasionally we both end up on it) It is seriously comfortable and I think it is a bigger than a twin. I love it, though it has a very low profile which means that artwork above my sofa is hung a little low.

I love, love, love my havana.

I love your headboard. My brother had one similar to that, slightly more grey. I am sure it is sitting in storage, but you make me want to "borrow" it.

Oh gosh, I could gush about this apartment all night. I love the bedding, but love the fabric on the chair by the balcony. Lovely, lovely apartment. The only thing I would add is some kind of overhead lighting in the living room. I envision a gorgeous chandelier. Since it is new construction, you probably have a cement ceiling and would have to chisel out a groove to run the wiring (I know that is a pain-my husband did it for my brother (and others))

So fantastic, I love its classy souk vibe. You win, hands down.
