Oh yeah! I had them flash-fried as an appetizer at Nobu many years ago. Very light with just the right amount of spice (for me).

So is it an inedible-edible? Still edible? I am sure it's important (and you did say "reasons unknown") but I'm baffled. And it follows logically that no, my family doesn't have any food or recipe related heirlooms.

@toberead - exactly, the lucerne brand is my preferred. It actually strings and isn't over-salted.

And also, love BabyBels; I get one in my lunch e'eryday.

I like a jello mold (sans meat and/or veggies) as much as the next girl, BUT call me closed-minded when it comes to terrines. They give me the jeebies.

I like Polly-O it tends to get really stringy which is, of course, the point. I do not like sargento, too salty! bleh!

Trust? Change? ACK! Just let the man be who he is! You be you! I like food as much as the next girl, but if a Mr. (nearly) perfect found me but didn't like food as much as I did, I am sure I would live just fine.

Seriously, you'd love him but try and change him? Not cool.

It's true. I used to talk about TJs all the time to my family in NC. Now that they have one, (my mother and her friends have to drive an hour south to get there) and it's just an event! It's funny really how quickly they have come over to the dark side.

The recipe looks worth trying, but I have to admit even when my folks and I lived in Alabama, I was never really wild about Moon Pies.

Something about the cookie part never really was enticing to me.

I'm with Muirne, definitely pellets. You just can't find them anymore and it makes me sad.

I know I was lazy with an old steel pan of mine, when it came out of the wash (young, dumb...) I oiled it, treating it like my cast iron. That usually helped, or made it look less horrible.

Heck yeah! I picked mine up for $5 at a Sur La Table clearance sale. Best. Water. Bottle. Ever.

I'm late to the party as usual, but I'm with bibliovore on the candying. We used the leftover candying syrup as a citrus-infused simple syrup.

Eh, won't eat golden ones. And the regular ones have to have the right taste, texture and smell before I'll eat them.

Soooo gooood! In puerto rico they package bites of it singly, like candy. I like to eat it just by itself, but it's nice to have greater purpose. :) The turnovers look especially promising.

I can still find the plain ones here. But I am lazy so I generally look for the ones with the sausage stuffed ones. Occasionally you can find those or the cinnamon rolls.

But for folks in the DC metro area: Harris Teeter is the key.
