It doesn't appeal to me. The boxes seem bigger than what is needed for the actual objects placed in them. Exposed cords and spine channel lend a messy look.

Many products at IKEA are not actually Swedish words at all. They are certainly not the words that describe the objects for sale. A lot of them are just Norwegian and Danish city names. It's just a big Scandinavian mish-mash.

I've heard the same re: lead. The ones we bought were manufactured in China, and my wife reminds me to wash my hands every time I touch them! The package even came with a lead warning on it - yikes.

Jasmine: the types of plants that do well in a closet with no sunlight are artificial plants. My guess is those plants in the picture are plastic plants from IKEA.

the people freaking out about landlords need to chill! this tenant made her own choice and the consequences are hers. she's been there 5 years and probably has good sense about these things.

i feel like the commenters who are not in NYC don't really get how impersonal a lot of the landlord/building relationships are here. my brooklyn landlord has literally not been inside my apartment in probably decades, if that. she inherited it and has no interest in and no idea about what the units look like (and they are unmaintained, falling-apart tenements). if i left, she would rent it out again without inspection or cleaning. it's very common here, and ANY improvements done by previous tenants are usually very appreciated by future tenants!

I can't get behind projects like these, cute as they may be. Reused industrial wooden pallets are very toxic. Not something to have in the home, and not around kids.
