When did 1980's era builders grade kitchens become charming? The new kitchen is a huge improvement, no matter your taste.

Furniture layout and ideas for built-ins to maximize room usage & storage, then window treatments and a dream kitchen/dining area plan for the future. Maybe I need more than one day! I really want someone to come wave their magic wand and tell me where the furniture will be best.

Could not live without the toaster oven! Our family of three uses it every day. Love it for baking small things without heating up the whole kitchen. In addition to regular toasting, I've broil fish, baked quiche, pies, cookies and small casseroles. Have a Breville now and will definitely spring for the convection next time. Had a hard time paying so much for a toaster - but the toast is fabulous!

I have had mine since at least 1990. My favorite part about is the footprint - it takes up such a tiny space. Glad to see I am not the only one with an attachment to this classic!

I have over the door shoe bags in the pantry, bathroom, kid's room and office- I like the clear pockets so you can see what is in them. I wasn't sure how well they would work, but after the first one, I was hooked! I love pegboard too, just covered a wall in my laundry/utility/storage room and was thinking about framing a scrap to put in the office.

Another vote for glass and mirror hangers.

My brother in law tries to stir the pot and talk politics, but the rest of us are too uninterested in what he has to say to bait him. The old ladies at the table (who prepared the meal) will talk about how nothing tastes as good this year, we must have left something out, blah blah blah. It is the self deprecating southerner to the extreme. I miss the Thanksgiving of my youth where we talked sports, politics (local is always best), pop culture, you name it - and there was definitely a lot of laughing.

Cancel! Mother-in-law was hospitalized the day before Thanksgiving. Other relatives were staying at her house and insisted on having it on Friday, when she came home. Seriously, if you are a guest of someone who falls ill enough to be hospitalized, clean up and go home! The last thing you want when you come home from the hospital is a bunch of house guests waiting for Thanksgiving dinner. Of course, if you have idiot house guests and fall ill enough to be hospitalized, they might need to be told to go home.

These are very cool. A wooden toy or teether for a baby is not a new idea, seems perfectly safe to me.

There should be a zero star option. I don't get the orange circle either, not sure how it would "sit" and am pretty sure any little boy wouldn't be able to properly aim in the little hole. Toilets need fewer moving parts - less nooks and crannies to clean. Show me a seat that cleans the toilet, then I'll vote for you.

I love my classic Nags Head Hammock - in the summer, the kids are outside weaving them on the premises. www.NagsHeadHammocks.com

Like the hooks, but I would use better looking screws to hang them.

My 13 year old, 50 lb yellow lab sleeps at the foot of our bed. I am a no animals on the furniture person, but the dog and his habits were part of the package with my husband. The bed is the only furniture he is allowed on. I love this dog to pieces and he is the only dog that will ever sleep on my bed.

While I think hiding a tiny tv is silly, this little cover is fun. The pockets on the back are a great idea!

I like this idea, it's just a fun take an a step beyond hooks. lazy_lurker, my half dirties tend to get hung over the side of the hamper (washing machine safe) or back on hangers and on a hook on my closet door (dry clean or things that wrinkle). The stuff on the hamper will get worn or washed, whichever comes first.

Storing a fake tree for 11 months is a real turn off for me. I cut the branches off my real NC Fraser fir and use them in the yard as weed control.

I think they look great! The chairs have a spark of personality now. The textures and dark colors go nicely with the wood.

I vote to get rid of it. How functional is an electric fireplace anyway?
